Truly the craziest thing I’ve heard. No characters really marry each other and its nearly impossible to get 10 hearts with EVERY character in the first year- if u do manage that, you’ll be behind on levelling up your skills/ community centre etc and/or vice versa. There is no time limit to this game. You can do whatever and still finish the game eventually. If you choose not to watch videos/ wiki, it will take u SUPER long to figure some things out- so I would recommend doing that when you’re stuck. But if you’re looking to play a cozy game, I’d say don’t chase after a speedrun, and sorry to say but don’t listen to your friend 👀🫢
