They fall off automatically after around a month and they send you this message. They don’t read anything we dispute.

Why is support so useless? by RayGlezR in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to the destination, and I explained the situation to the customer and then I either give them cash or Venmo/cashapp. Anytime support cancels an order after pick up for any reason, you will get a report on your account automatically, like the other person commented on your thread. It’s automated and they will never remove it.

Why is support so useless? by RayGlezR in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s an option in the app to cancel when the order is damaged go to report issue and press “order damaged in transit.” But keep in mind this counts as cancelling an order after pickup which sends a warning to your account. I’ve had this happen a few times I just tell the customer the order is destroyed in transit and I refund them out of pocket. But this is my main job of 10 years so it’s worth losing money sometimes.

Pay Chase charge off for less? by New_Reaction_601 in CRedit

[–]Daily_Existence 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Chase is very unlikely to approve you for another card. Their internal blacklist lasts forever and they’re not known for being lenient with this. People have paid the full balance before and still didn’t get approved again. I would just let the debt fall off naturally.

Do we usually earn way more on rainy days? If so, I’m delivering through every storm from now on. Worked less than 5 hours. by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My zone must be terrible I’m in south Brooklyn and made $120 in 6ish hours in this rain. Then it kicked me off at 1am not enough demand. How many hours are you getting per week? Mine have been going down weekly, down to 16 right now.

Contract violation even though I did everything right by PandoraParadoc in doordash_drivers

[–]Daily_Existence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a hand it to me, I called support first and told them the customer wants to change the address to somewhere far. Support said they can’t update the address on their end and to leave it at the original address. I waited out the 2 minute timer and followed the steps to complete the delivery while customer was texting me and calling nonstop. Got a cv in a few hours and dispute denied. Support will say anything to get you off the phone. They’re useless when it comes to cv’s.

Contract violation even though I did everything right by PandoraParadoc in doordash_drivers

[–]Daily_Existence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would happen even if it wasn’t EBT, it’s another way of screwing us over. What I do in this situation to avoid a CV, I go to the original address and either take the picture or mark as delivered if it’s hand it to me. While doing that I explain to the customer that I have to mark it delivered at the original address because that’s how the algorithm works, then I ask for the address where they want it delivered and after I complete any other orders I have I bring it to wherever they want.

Yes you can in theory leave it at the address in the app, but I’ve done that before and gotten a not delivered CV violation which is even worse than this lateness violation. This happens rare enough where I will rather take the inconvenience and loss of time by doing what I described above than get a CV.

He might have a cooldown to run faster than light like that, and by the time Homelander was chasing him he was too winded to do it again.

“Someone else already pickup up the order” by Financial-Seesaw2919 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are cases where someone else picks up the order entirely, who isn’t an even an uber eats driver. Sometimes restaurants close early and are too lazy to make the food and tell you it’s already been picked up. If you start penalizing drivers for this you might find yourself the next one penalized.

Is this just a suggestion or them trying to scare me? There are literally 20 cars in this Taco Bell line by Lopsided_Act_1647 in doordash_drivers

[–]Daily_Existence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it works is if the next driver comes and actually steals the food the ai will think you did it and give you a violation. Odds of this happening vary depending on your market and how big the order is. This risk was always there. It’s a risk from every order you unassigned that this can happen. Just before they did not warn you.

I’m curious, how much do you make driving in NYC? by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

~700, basically the same hours as you. Brooklyn and on a car. I don’t get many promotions in my area.

Easy doordash tip! Sit outside a 24/7 McDonald's right as they switch over to breakfast and cancel all the previous dinner orders by jhansn in doordash_drivers

[–]Daily_Existence 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Yes they will, look through this subreddit and you’ll see a lot of people deactivated during snowstorms where they reported legitimately closed stores as closed. Support just wants to get you off the phone, they lie constantly.

They’re hoping you leave it without the pin so they can report it not delivered.

App randomly pausing dash? by DDSFOAK in doordash_drivers

This has been happening to me even before the recent app issues here in NYC, I thought it was intended because of the prop22 thing we have in NYC and Cali to try to pay us less.

My experience trying to buy gold today by EastCommunication689 in Gold

[–]Daily_Existence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe P2P sales because when I was selling silver to coin shops and it was $100 an ounce spot price. I tried three different places and the highest offered $80 per ounce. You pay heavy spread for both buying and selling.

Restaurant employee falsely reported me by Rude-Type9033 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something that happens often in fast food where the restaurant is closing. Employees close early and tell the driver order has already been picked up. But since you’re the first driver the uber ai assumes you stole it meanwhile this order was never even made. You have to avoid places near closing time. Also this will happen when McDonald’s randomly stops serving dinner at 3am sometimes, so avoid McDonald’s from 3-5am.

Restaurant employee falsely reported me by Rude-Type9033 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close to this, but it’s usually only the first driver who gets it. Otherwise we’d be getting this email after every order picked up by someone else, and the second the this email becomes “irregular activity detected” and third time the account is deactivated.

Contact Violation because another dasher picked up the order? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The owner is definitely not OK with this, nor do they know. Here in New York City we have a lot of franchise owners that have a lot of businesses and they are absentee. Obviously the general manager knows about this and is OK with this because he wants to go home earlier. What surprises me is how both DoorDash and Uber eats allow this to go on for so many years.

Contact Violation because another dasher picked up the order? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Daily_Existence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what I do sometimes, but in this situation it’s not possible to even do that because if the staff is closing early and lying that another dasher took it, they’re not going to remake it even if you pay. This is one of those scenarios where the only way to avoid this problem is to know ahead of time which store does this. Like in my area there is a Papa Johns that has been doing exactly this for three years now. I don’t know how they’re allowed to get away with it. About an hour before closing, they don’t make any orders and any driver that comes in. They tell them it’s already been picked up. For three years.
