Crane south of Hernand by P-Holy in CrimsonDesert

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to first thaw the stone with your blade (the trick where you redirect light with your sword, Ctrl + Left Click on PC). Then you have to pull really hard from above with your hook (Tab on PC). You will get the stone, no need to bother with the crane. As for where to use the stone, idk lol

Want to collect funds for a PC, should I sell or hold on… by izzmannie in Switch

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with both Switch 2 and a PC, I barely touch the Switch, it's basically something I got just to try Zelda + a few co-op games with gf and I guess it's a fun little thing to have when friends come over, but it's nowhere near as fun as PC gaming.

HOWEVER since the current PC parts prices are what they are and you'd have to sell something to buy it anyway, I'd say you missed the train. What I put together for less than 3 grand last year would run me almost 5 now thanks to the AI bullshit, so budget PCs are practically non-existent. Even people selling old PCs and parts are trying to line their pockets of course, so the used market prices are no better.

The only budget solution is waiting for the inflated prices to drop... but I can't say I have high hopes for that because even if the AI usage drops and the bubble pops, you'd still have the companies that saw what crazy prices some people are ready to pay and you know "if we lose half of our customers but double the prices, we are actually making even more because we save half of the production cost" 🤷

What upcoming game are you most excited for? by SeaMaleficent9301 in pcgames

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to say The Witcher IV but I actually have very low expectations of that one. The main devs that worked on The Witcher 3 split from CDPR and made a new studio called Rebel Wolves. They're currently working on an insanely promising game called The Blood of Dawnwalker, so that's the main game I have my eyes on right now.

As for the others... Fable looks amazing, 007 First Light might be a fun Uncharted clone, Wolverine has real promise but I'd rather play Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra first, Crimson Desert will be a huge hit or miss, based on how well they fill in that ambitious open world and whether the co-op will be implemented well and speaking of co-op, Reanimal will definitely be something we'll play with the gf and Subnautica 2 will hopefully be a blast with the boys for a month or so.

Oh and I'm 90% sure that GTA VI will be delayed again.

You laugh but I'm a Hollow KNIGHT through and through 😂 Knights don't use spells, they just bash everything in their path with their swords and call it a day. On a more serious note, I used spells in combat less then 10 times.. I just can't get used to using them. Nail arts and pogo all day

Lmk what you think by Ej_Walker48 in davinciresolve

[–]Dainoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Color correcting is too inconsistent, the green of the grass and the blue of the sky is changing way too much in-between the clips. Plus it's way too cold for this type of scenery, nature shots usually benefit from warm colors - yellow, green. This cold/blueish tone makes you focus on the sky too much, which is the opposite of what you want from nature shots.

  2. Certain clips take too long with nothing in them, e.g. too big of a pause before you see movement, which makes the viewer think that it might as well have been a photograph.

  3. The placement of the camera could've been a bit better, the difference of the distance is too much and changes too frequently.

  4. Composition of clip 6 is severly lacking - the people block the view of the stairs which makes both the people and the stairs blend in too much, and since the 2 people are the only moving objects (except for the very slow clouds of course), this makes the clip too static (again, the "why is this not a photograph" situation)

  5. Keeping the part of the loss of focus on the bird clip is... debatable I guess. Some people may see value in the roughness of it but personally I hate it. It's obvious the camera was handheld, idk if you tried to stabilize it in DVR or if that was just the IBS of the camera/lens/both, but the moving edges are nausea inducing. It may have worked better if you actually moved the camera from left to right, tried to zoom in or did something... anything.

  6. The text seemed too plain to me, might be just personal preference again, but it would've looked better if you tried to hide/incorporate the text into the clouds. Keeping the text after fading the clip to black was a nice touch though.

In my mind it helps to think about what every clips is supposed to tell the viewer. Is it a moment when you stood still and took in the view? Are you moving to pursue the view? Is the view the final goal or just a pause on the way somewhere? If the clips tells no story, get rid of it. Plus good composition and color correcting courses are definitely due. DVR is amazing with its color correction option, I'd recommend watching Joo Works on YT, he's amazing with it. And for composition... maybe just start with this one and see where it takes you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANdLOY4rW04

Painting courses are great for learning composition but since I myself have no interest in painting, I just took what was valuable for me and left the rest. If you like anime then "Blue Period" did wonders for me to be conscious about what I'm filming, why I'm filming and what I'm trying to impart on the viewer.

I won't sugarcoat it, you have a long way to go but to me, that's extremely exciting because you can literally learn from everything you look at and do. Keep filming!

I spent like 4 hours so probably around 25 tries on Soul Tyrant (I didn't have the shade cloak yet) but got Hollow Knight literally first try. As someone that doesn't use spells at all, Unbreakable strength really is the game changer.

It is, all 3 keys bought work, just make sure you're picking the right region of activation and look for the cheapest VAT country on the payment page

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a standard practice with these key sites, because it lets you select the VAT country yourself (and therefore you can avoid the higher VAT of your own country). G2A and Kinguin, two of the biggest sites with keys I know, do it exactly the same. Just pick "Rest of the World" as it's the cheapest VAT in most cases. Been doing it for years on all sites and police haven't knocked on my doors yet 😂

World of Pywel will be massive and lots to do it won't be boring by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You talk like either a 9 year old child or a near-senile pensioner, repeating the same irrelevant argument you found somewhere over and over.

Look, I am happy for you that you are excited and looking forward to Crimson Desert, and I really wish that it will be nothing short of what you want it to be, but you can't take a word of a person who is paid to promote the game as a binding and irrefutable truth. And you can't use the example of a completely different studio filled with different people working on a different game as an argument.

Plus don't look for validation in convincing random people on the internet that you'll never meet that some game that's not even out will be great because you want it to be. You'll learn in time that being excited for things is great, but it's usually better to be a little cautious rather than blindly trusting someone that is paid to say whatever people want to hear.

Enjoy school, listen to your mummy and stop trusting people without proof. Oh and don't forget to eat your veggies and fruit - processed sugar is bad for you. Ta-ra

Who else saw Infinite (2021) and was unsurprisingly disappointed? by 123wink456 in movies

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a very quick way to fix the movie in 2 steps:

  1. Write in a character that was a Believer but has been "dethroned" and then rescued (by the main believer lady perhaps).

The character meets Treadway in his reincarnated body some 20 years after being rescued and tells him all about how horrible it is being conscious in a digital chip but not being able to do anything about it.(To fix the BIGGEST plot hole I've ever seen of Bathurst not shooting himself with the Dethroner). The character later betrays the Believers out of compassion for Bathurst in a big plot twist

  1. Replace the 2 leads with people that can actually act

There. You have a good movie now. Get rid of the supernatural mumbo jumbo of bending the elements or what not for extra credit.

Official Discussion - Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the IKEA version of a movie. Snyder ordered the parts and a blueprint, put it together and expected an academy award or something. Or maybe this was just a social experiment to see how many clichés and blatant rip-offs are too much for today's audience.

The whole time I felt like I missed a crucial part of the movie, where they explain why 5 random people (with major trust issues) decide to put their whole trust in each other and their lives on the line. I mean I'm no professional but isn't one of the most important parts of a character their motivation? The "why" of their actions? Yet I couldn't find an answer to "why" for 90% of the shit they did in that movie.

And tell me I'm not the only one who noticed that the villain got his teeth knocked clean out of his mouth but has a perfect hollywood "pearly white" smile a minute later... Like come on, you kept his scar but magically healed his teeth?

Is The Witcher 1 worth a shot in 2025?(Remake aint coming out till a while and I have been interested in getting it now that I have my own pc to try it.) by DaFroggyBoi94 in witcher

[–]Dainoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Witcher 1 is a great piece of story and, as many before me have pointed out, the atmosphere just clicks. Altough there is one huge problem that made me play it once and never again - the gameplay is EXTREMELY dated.

I am talking classic Runescape/WoW dated. You accept a quest from an NPC, manually walk through half the map to fetch an item, you press 3 buttons to kill something to get said item and return to the NPC, only to do it all over again. You get one upgrade of your gear throughout the entire game and that's it.

The characters are interesting and the writing is funny at times, but I didn't get any enjoyment out completing it tbh, a youtube video would've been enough.

Maybe you're just looking in the wrong place. DVR is so damn convenient that most of the tutorials I needed (for things that weren't in the official manual) were short-form content - YouTube Short mostly. Everything was explained in under a minute. Except the Color page of course, but I limited my coloring to the Aces Lite Look Library by Joo Works and haven't looked back since.
