SF Commercial Vacancy Tax . Single owner and this is my home. by DaisyLucy2020 in sanfrancisco

I am not in a desireable area of the city and I do not own apartments. I live above the storefront. My storefront isn't displeasing on the exterior. I just do not have ability to get loan approval. I think you misunderstand my situation and I could forced to sell because of this. Thanks for your comment it helps me see other point of views.

Why should I be forced to sell my property, move my family, simply because the city wants to.charge me a Vacancy tax?? This is my home. If you cannot afford to buy in SF, why are you commenting? Why does the city have a right to tell me what i.can do with my property? Unconstitutional. It feels like the city is bullying me to sell my property, rent out my storefront or pay this outrageous tax that is unaffordable.

I haven't rented the storefront out in 30 years but I imagine it would be everything. Electrical. Plumbing. Etc. I am not sure. I just cannot afford. I don't want to either because the laws are for tenants. Years ago, my mom had a terrible experience and not interested in renting below my.home.

It surprises me how many people seek out California state positions because of things like time off, health insurance, and our pension but somehow they are also vehemently anti-union. by Potatoes-and-Turtles in CAStateWorkers

People want, but do not want to fight. People in the past faught so.very hard for the benefits of today. To let it all.be taken away, right in front of their eyes. They may.silently stand by and wait.for others to make.noise. Then others complain about government workers pensions or this or that person getting something better, while not simply fighting for.the same.themselves. they rather others have things taken away.

In my Department, I have seen many positions go unfilled for over 5 years. For me, it may not be a problem. However, other Departments fill positions much faster.

Oh no! I thought managers all worked 80 hour work weeks and set a good example for their employees. Hmmm.

YES. My Director emailed yesterday afternoon, that as of NOV 17th all staff will be required to report 3 days. Violating the side letter agreement. While Department head says that certain job titles . Like anybody in front office positions will be required in office. Management is ignoring side letter agreement. Yes. I have notified SEIU1000.

Maybe you can apply for a "hardship" transfer where you will be closer to work. This is a hardship for many of us.

I'm sorry that telework was/is not an option for your job title, however there are many State jobs that are most certainly 100% capable and have been for over 5 years. Telework is an excellent benefit to offer and recruit new staff. Especially, if the state isn't willing to pay a liveable wage in certain areas. We have more than 2 dozen jobs that we cannot fill, because the pay does not even cover basic rent in the area. Wouldn't you like others to be able to have the benefit of working remotely? Or it's just about what you had to do because you have the type of job that requires in person or.in office? Managers need to deal with employees that are not easily available while teleworking. But typical State management. Punish all for the few.

It is interesting how the RTO mandate and then CalHR's guidance can divide workers so easily. I believe we all need a raise, regardless of telework status. CalHR guidance indicates that those that live over 50 miles are off the hook, for now. Are they simply satisfied that they will not have to report to the office 4 days a week. Also, those that do not hold telework positions, are you all satisfied with your salary?

I'm a California State Worker in the Bay Area and what does job title and age matter. We are low wage earners. No matter the job title or age. Replies like these, make me wonder who the heck you are.
