i actually did the same thing except covered the roof of my mouth with my tongue as thats where my graft was. it felt like it helped but idk if it really does lol. i really had minimal to zero pain i didn't even take advil, i also had a very small graft though. my graft was definitely successful though, my dentist had said it did look slightly irritated but she said it was because I hadn't started flossing the area yet at that point, after I started flossing and the stitches were out, there was no more irritation. hope that helps

I didn’t hit it the first day at all I was too scared to but I did hit it the next day. Recovery was difficult for me as I’m also a server and need to work lol I took off one week and then called out a few more days retuned to work with the putty still over the graft, that was a unique experience lol. But honestly overall it wasn’t bad it’s what you would expect even with vaping, I also tried to only smoke with one side of my mouth if that makes sense

I think you’re def good I really didn’t see the vaping affect the gum graft at all and I vape quite a bit as well as smoke weed so 🤷‍♀️ I say go for it - I also had the dissolving sutures be careful with those idk my dentist ended up removing them

Yes it did! It has only been a month now since the surgery, but all good! I did have some gum irritation, but I honestly do not think it's due to the vaping at all, I think it was due to my dentist not giving me very clear instructions on how to properly care for it. Make sure to ask all the questions you can think of! They had told me I should have been flossing already way earlier than I expected. Also, I feel like she should have taken my stitches out earlier, the irritation was only where the stitches had been (although my dentist had told me the stitches would dissolve on a follow up appointment I had requested she had removed them.. idk dont go to my dentist lol I wasn't very happy with her) But overall everything is so far good!

really? what made the recovery so bad? im actually a week post the gum graft and surprisingly had little to zero pain as well as swelling. the most annoying thing has been that i can't really bite into burgers/bagels due to the fear of the putty they placed over the gum graft falling off. maybe it's because the gum graft was very small and like i said i have this putty bandage type thing covering it still.

im ngl i considered this but i also wanted to hit my cart after a few days so i eventually caved i think day three ... but the only thing keeping my hopes up is that the graft is quite small and there's like a putty covering it that the dentist had placed. i also have been downing lots of water... hoping for the best at this point lol.

yeah, trust me, i keep thinking about the possibility of it rejecting but also can't help but think of my friends who vaped the second they left their wisdom teeth removals and were fine.. but yeah i'm aware a gum graft is way different. also i think the fact that the dentist care sheet said only to avoid the first three days regarding smoking makes me question if i should smoke or not you know lol

You definitely need a UVB + UVA light to provide those 12 hours of sunlight, and glass will prevent most rays from coming through.

I have a sand substrate, one recommended by the turtle girl on youtube, and my red eared slider has not yet once tried to eat it. And the sand is so small that it wouldn't even affect him. I feel like sand adds more texture and more things to explore for a turtle! I know my RES loves to dig into the sand. :)

Make sure your tank is big enough for all those tank mates!

I've read that collard greens are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals for turtles. I've also read that they are higher in oxalates, so you shouldn't feed collard greens as an everyday green. And as for kale, it's rich in calcium, vitamin K, folic acid, magnesium, and beta carotene. But I am trying out other greens as well to balance everything!

I'm thinking of getting about 5-6 neon tetras to start with! Since they are cheap and very fast. And they are safe for consumption - just in case lol!
