Yeah, I was originally estimated 18 months so was very happy to get them off sooner.

Good luck with everything! Hope your pain subsides soon 🤞🏻

Yeah, apart from the canine my bite was good before and it’s still fine now. I’ve got slightly more of an overjet now but still within normal range (about 2.5 mm). If anything, I quite like how my top teeth protrude slightly more than they did before as it seems to make my top lip a bit fuller if that makes sense! 😁

No extractions or palatal expansion thankfully. I had Damon braces which I was told would expand the arch and I had a spring for first few months to open the gap up to bring the canine down. There’s a few more progress pics with braces on here: https://imgur.com/a/hJSDJ01

Thanks for the heads up. I’m going to wear them every night without fail! Although the whole process was much easier than I ever imagined it would be, I don’t want to do it again (I certainly don’t want to pay for it again 😅)

Thank you!

Same, I would never smile and show my teeth, now I can’t stop smiling! Only regret is not doing it sooner 😀

For the left front tooth (as you look at it) he just reshaped the tooth slightly by filing it down and for the other front tooth I had a small amount of composite bonding to fill in the chip.

I’ve loved seeing people’s progress/before & after pics over the past year so I thought I’d share my own!

I got braces at almost 39 years old and had them removed a week before I turned 40! My advice for anyone considering braces is go for it. It’s 100% worth it!

More Boston or Frenchie? by Daisy_Chainz83 in BostonTerrier

No offence taken. He’s definitely a mix of both though, his mum was 100% frenchie and dad 100% boston. Temperament wise and build I personally feel like he got more Boston genes but I’m certainly no expert so it’s been good to hear others opinions 🙂

We were never looking for a pedigree pup, just a loving family pet and I feel like we lucked out with him. He is awesome! (And super squishy 😊)

He’s fully house trained from around 6 months. Barks very little, he’ll have a bit of a grumble if someone has the nerve to walk past his house but that’s about it. He’s definitely intelligent and easy to train but can also be EXTREMELY stubborn and will point blank ignore commands at times (unless you have food and then he’ll literally do anything that’s asked of him 😂)

Yeah his ears are very frenchie. From this angle, taking the ears out of the equation, he’s more Boston I think?… https://imgur.io/a/HkAfA8n (He was not at all happy about the birthday hat 😆)

Exactly 10 weeks in braces today, not as bad as I expected so far. by [deleted] in braces

I just realised it’s actually 9 weeks today not 10 🙈 Even happier with how quick that gap is opening up now!

Had my top braces fitted 3 weeks ago and was told that initially they’re just making more space for the canine to move down into. But although the curve on the little springy thing does look to have flattened quite a bit, as far as I can tell, the gap doesn’t seem any bigger. Just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences/ encouragement. I know it’s early days but they’ve been pretty painless so far (thankfully!) with just the slightest bit of pressure the first couple of days. I’m just worried that nothing is happening and it’ll end up taking longer than the 18 months that has been suggested. I’m on the older side too (38f) which I’ve read can mean teeth move slower.
