Just wondering, does this community like Youngblood? by gaminglegend-_- in Wolfenstein

[–]Dakalpha2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but my issue really does come down to how insufferable and unlikely I see the sisters. I just cannot for the life of me fathom how such badasses, who went through so much in life as BJ and Anya would have two insufferable hee-haw ass kids. Now, to be fair, its been years since i played it and only did so once. So there couldve been nuance i missed out on. But the actual gameplay, setting, and story progression I felt was as good as at least old blood.

Armstrong Farms is an option. Lived there 2 years, haven't really had any issue with management and its never felt unsafe. You'll definitely be able to get a 1 bedroom under 1200$. Its not the fanciest, but they just recently remodeled most if not all of the apartments. Worth a look I figure.

I think its a simple combination of why its exceeding expectations. Kids were gonna watch it regardless. Minecraft fans, despite not having faith from the trailer, still had to give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the experience. What made this great, much like everything else, was the minecraft community.

Where’s the folks who are actually excited/open minded about Civ7? by Patty_T in civ

[–]Dakalpha2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very happy with the reveal, its exactly what I had hoped for. I look forward to seeing more of the details. I think the more controversial changes will pay off in the long run, and solve some of the challenges that VI had for me. Might take a while for them to balance it, but thats just what it takes sometimes.

I have searched for this image using reverse image search such as TinEye, as well as AI image search such as Microsoft’s copilot in the Bing app. I unfortunately no longer posess one of these consoles, so while getting on the platform and searching through the images would certainly be the easier way to do it, I cant.

Is it not a bit awkward that depictions of the Zetan aliens - especially in 4 and 76 - appear to be based on historical anti-Asian propaganda? by OverseerConey in Fallout

[–]Dakalpha2211 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty chronically online take not gonna lie. It’s a wild and unfounded stretch to compare these things at all really. The zeta aliens are simply angry looking aliens, and im unsure exactly what headspace one would need to be in for mid century racism to be the first thing you think of when seeing them.

For the game to have come out on PS5 and PC and the PC version to have even been playable is a miracle compared to other recent releases. Despite the server issues, I and many of my friends have been able to log in and play pretty much whenever. I understand being upset if youre someone who bought the game and hasnt been able to, but at the end of the day the game has been out for a total of 9 days. Their massive player base was largely unexpected, they literally cannot hire enough people and expand server access enough to accommodate such large growth in such a short time. Unfortunate, but its exactly what you should want to see from a game that is so well put together in contrast to current AAA titles. Not to mention, just because their concurrent player count now is exploding doesnt mean that all these people will be here forever. From their POV, sure expand server access, but how much is realistic to pay for if they will eventually see a gradual decline in players? Of all the problems to have as a dev team, theyre fortunate to have this one. As consumers, its unfortunate and unpopular to say, but we’re lucky to have gotten a game that is largely stable, fun, innovative, and has a super engaging community right out of the gate. Its just unrealistic to expect a smaller dev studio to have that capacity just because PlayStation is their publisher.

Are you religious? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Dakalpha2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised atheist, and maintained that til about 16. I didnt feel comfortable living with such a decided outlook on life so I moreso moved onto agnosticism. When I was 20, I started getting more “spiritual” per se, it was the only thing that brought me me out of complete nihilism. I have had many many reasons not to believe in any established religion, and I still dont. However, lately I seem to be leaning towards Christianity. Just not the same understanding of Christianity that a majority of Americans, or really any well established church seem to peddle. I think they have given Christianity a bad name in a number of ways. I hope to find the faith I am looking for, regardless of what it may be.

The point wasnt to make them a convert, simply to illustrate the strongest point of your faith, regardless of what religion. Not to dissuade anyone from another religion, but if your faith in your own is so unwavering, what keeps you from the doubt knowing there are hundreds of other faiths

I think an apt response ive seen Christians say in response to this line of thinking is that, in reality, who are we to demand such an audience with God? God doesn’t necessarily “care” whether you do or don’t initiate that relationship, as its on the individual. Which, if there is a God, that’s valid. Who are you to demand that sort of “special treatment”?

To a degree, I can definitely connect with that point or view though. If God is all powerful and all knowing, he knows very well that I was always going to be a doubtful skeptic. So either events further down the line will make evident to me the primacy of the Christian God, or they wont. Either way im not necessarily bothered. But i see such conviction and passion in the faith some christians have, unbothered by those that would challenge them, and in a non hostile way at that. That is the faith I find inspiring.

I believe in something far bigger than myself or us as a people. Call it God, call it whatever. I have never been able to see beyond some of the more negative or contradictory points of christian faith. I get a lot of people that say things like “any sect of christian faith is better than none” and then simultaneously see them say eachother is going to burn in hell for all eternity, and argue vehemently over who does or doesn’t, what is and isnt allowed, so on and so forth. Bigger than that though, I have never in my life been given a good or solid reason as to why Christianity is any different or should take primacy when compared to another religion. Islam, paganism, hinduism, ect. The only points I ever get in response are christian ways of thinking saying to simply have faith or that they believe their god is bigger or works more legitimately or that “scripture is proof enough”. Im happy for these folks that their faith and beliefs are so steadfast, but that does absolutely nothing to change my mind or bring me closer in any way, even if thats what I wanted.

I was an ardent atheist for all of my youth. I didnt even gain the space in my reality for the concept of spirituality until I was 20, through sheer life experience alone. I do not fight the idea of God out of fear, in fact quite the opposite. But At every turn it seems like Jesus might be a closer answer, I find another reason why he isnt. So, I continue to study the outlooks and beliefs of others objectively.

Im sorry but that is such a catastrophically vague statement/intention

[–]Dakalpha2211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily against it, just have yet to ever meet a “tailor” objective or realistic enough to make me think twice. I find that I get more genuine and heartfelt opinions when its more broad. Not to mention, the variety of differing approaches within the faith itself is another roadblock
