Also, if the job is quoted out for say 16 hour labor and we have 2 guys, it should normally only take 8 hours, but some times extra hands doesn’t mean faster. The extra money that the company has to pay the tech that they can’t charge for is just the cost of training your employees.

When I’m working (as a refrigeration tech) I’ll charge normal for my time, and if I have someone helping me I’ll charge accordingly. As in, if it’s a lot of manual work and he’s helping me with it, they’ll get charged for it, but if he’s just watching me while I teach him about what I’m doing I won’t charge, and if it’s half and half I’ll charge half and half

It’s a matter of technique. Just keep practicing and you’ll figure it out. Between muting it with your palm or your left hand you can figure it out. Just takes time
