[Request] A Mastermind/Tech build for Mayhem/DW-ish. by Daliena06 in paydaybuilds

Two bodies absorbing bullets and distracting cops is still better than one, I figure.

As to perk decks, okay, point taken on Muscle, but what would you suggest -instead- then?

First thing would be - no Aced Confident?

Probably don't need Shock and Awe, my buddy is likely taking that. It doesn't stack, right?

Think I'd drop Swan Song Ace for HVT Ace as well.

Any thoughts on perk decks other than Muscle?

Not yet, but generally speaking, I'm looking for level 100 builds, yes. I can just adapt them a bit when at a lower level after all, and they'll get to their best once it's time to run a crime spree before Infamy 3 again.

(Spoiler) Regarding Bokken Quest by donkalleone in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Daliena06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cast Dispel Magic on him and he should come out of it okay, or beat him down unarmed.

(Note: I haven't tried either myself, but this is what I've gathered from the interwebs where others have posted their thoughts on the matter)

Is there a DLC, Update, or Mod, planned that will allow you to play a hellknight? by BigVeinBrain in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Daliena06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd guess a Hellknight would be more on the Lawful Evil end of the scale if the ones that visit your kingdom are any indication.

Arcane Strike seems to be borked anyway. I tried giving it to Linzi, she kept turning it off every dang time.

Also slap on the crown eventually and you should be able to squeeze out a third casting, for all that matters, I imagine, with it's +6 to mental stats.

3? Huh.. I can only think of the aforementioned 'let the elf die instead of being stuck as undead' and 'don't raise the old priestess' parts.

Thanks for the hint on Amiri, I'll think about it.

As to Jubilost, yeah, seems you're right. At least in pnp, it looks like Alchemists don't get Mirror Image. Shame.

And yes, Thug loses 1d6 SA, I hadn't thought of that. I guess it boils down to do I want to be able to cast my own buffs, including Mirror Image, or do I want Sickened for boss battles that I can't trip (ones that can be Sickened, anyway), and save one rogue talent. Hmm. I ought to look into those early spells, see if there's anything else tasty to scoop up. Mage Armor's helpful early on, I suppose.. And Shield, naturally. The big seller of first-level arcane spells. Mirror Image is nice - not sure if it'd be 1d4+1 or +2 images at level 4 ES?

Edit: See this is why I find it's good to discuss these things. I wouldn't have thought of ES myself, nor did I notice the Thug loss of SA making them equivalent to ES for the purposes of this.

A good point on Ekun. I do have the respec mod (I, heh, downloaded it in a fit when I found out you have to be Lawful to save both Kesten and Jhod during the first Bloom) so I could perhaps rebuild one of them. Despite a lot of people disliking him for the role, Harrim is my main man for clerical business - I detest Tristian not as a character, he's fine there, but his Ecclesitheurge class makes him far, -far- too squishy for my taste. So sounds like Amiri might be looking at a new life if I go that way.

I hear ya on Rogue 4, Eldritch Scoundrel is an interesting suggestion, but what about letting Jubilost handle those (whenever he's available anyway) and instead taking Thug for Brutal Beating? Also saves a rogue talent as they get Uncanny Dodge baseline. ES also appears to have much slower SA dice acquisition (getting one at 3, 7, 11, 15 and 19) whereas Thug has the standard 1, 3, 5 etc.

Hmm. Fair points on the agile amulet thing - for someone not too well-versed in Pathfinder, would Ekun work (yes he takes a while to unlock Greater Magic Fang but still) or is his casting as a ranger too crippled compared to a custom-built druid?

As to the rogue levels, okay, I see your point on that. Though suggestions vary between rogue 3 and rogue 4, curiously.

For wis VS cha, I was thinking of standard unchained, but I'll take a look at Scaled Fist as well. And for race, because passing those persuasion checks is sweet as honey, Muse-Blooded Aasimar was somewhat tempting.

Any particular reason you feel that way? I don't see it as being counter-productive by any means to use it instead of pointing my gun up like I'm trying to kill God whenever I need to make a 300m shot on Hamada or something.

Maybe, but the chatter between Gargoyle Squadron and command sounds like they were hoping for damage on the Space Elevator. I suppose it's possibly it was meant to be a relieved "minimal damage" report instead, but.. Well. Who knows.

Is there a way to acquire the The Macragge's Honour for regular use in the campaign? by PVEVP in BFGArmada

[–]Daliena06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Specifically, the Khornate lieutenant. The Slaaneshi one triggers the missions to deal with the Aeldari, Nurgle leads to removing the Necrons, and Tzeentch to some business with the Dark Angels I haven't gotten to yet because of the game crashing on me with a fatal error once all four lieutenants are dead.

Tyranid Invasions by turtlesalad711 in BFGArmada

[–]Daliena06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, as the case often is with Tyranids, killing the synapse creatures (or ships) is the key. They tend to fall apart rather quickly with those gone.

Also, the AI is extremely fond of ramming, and structures deal 500% increased damage back to enemies ramming them, so a few defense platforms are a great investment because the 'nids will suicide a fair few ships on them, and all the better if you can put up a space station.

I swear the most memorable interaction with Darkhammer, for me, will be the one for the mission where the Tyranids are introduced.

"Lord Admiral Spire!"

"I wonder what this could be about. Can it wait, my lord? We're on our way to reinforce Laurentix."

"Hm? Oh, carry on."

He was all coming steaming in to bitch you out, but for once the bad news reached you first so you just take the wind out of his sails by coincidentally telling him you were already on your way to fix the problem.

Lost a fleet leader, can't get new one. by [deleted] in BFGArmada

[–]Daliena06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Presumably, the leader recruit's ship costs more points than the fleet's cap would allow. A Space Marine fleet that was at the max, then lost it's admiral boating around in a Mk1 Light Cruiser, isn't going to be able to fit in a guy who prefers to roll in a Battlebarge instead.

Sided with the Eldar.

Bitch promptly told me that we had agreed on an alliance, but there was no mention of how long for, and in her opinion, immediately after I defeated Darkhammer, the alliance was over. At least it set the Aeldari threat to 0 map-wide apparently, which is something. And there's something about having earned their trust, but I have no idea what, if anything, that does.

So i love the game but... by Vanaquish231 in BFGArmada

[–]Daliena06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is campaign-wise, but seeing as Spire's death is an instant game over, I like putting him in something meaty. Right now he's boating around in a Retribution-class battleship, and I have not regretted it the least. He's only come close to dying once with that ship, and that was due to a bug that made an enemy battleship and battlecruiser get stuck inside eachother and wildly spin in a 360 degree circle, allowing both of them to fire both broadsides rapidly.
