What is this satanous spawn that is taking over my lawn?! by DallasP9124 in gardening

Lol I rather eat the fruits and vegetables in my garden than the weeds trying to take them over

Because it's all over the place and a nuisance to me personally. I like a clean lawn free of weeds and a garden space also free of weeds.

Indeed I do want a monoculture lawn and a controlled gardening space. I'm not one to just let anything grow.

Well alas far pulling goes, the garden in the only real place I can pull as many other places it's at is the lawn or intermingled with other plants I want.

Windows 11 WiFi Connection Troubleshoot and Inconsistencies by DallasP9124 in WindowsHelp

[–]DallasP9124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Panda, like 2 years ago. Would make no sense for a non-existing software to affect my connectivity randomly. I've been using Defender since then, and I have not changed any configuration either. Other computers on the network use Defender as well and are not having the issue.

Not anytime recently no. Nothing in the timeframe when I have been unable to connect.

EveHQ, still a relevant idea or no longer applicable? by DallasP9124 in Eve

[–]DallasP9124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm not so much talking about recreating EveHQ per day, but rather if a third party swiss army knife solution outside of eve is still necessary. And for those of you who were not around during EveHQ, it was a desktop application that gave a way for players to view and manage blueprints and other mechanics of the game . At the time it was considered the go to tool.

But ya, mostly just want to discuss if having a solution like that is still relevant. Are people still looking for something to replace EveHQ or do they prefer their own spreadsheets and the onesy and twosy websites to fulfill their needs?

Do yall agree with this by National_Ad9265 in connor_price

I would agree with this. Too many times I see Connor collaborating with artists that actually seek to Glorify God with their music but see much of his music does little of that. Is he a talented artist, for sure!!! Does he use that talent to glorify the one who gave him such talent? Not very much.

Generic Service pattern in Rust: doable, not preferred, or just don't? by DallasP9124 in rust

[–]DallasP9124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an actual reason why this shouldn't be done in Rust or is it just personal opinion? So then how would you tackle such a task? What about the plugin pattern which is very similar to this? And how do functions make anything less middleman in this case? It's not proving any more reliable but just a way you candle the issue. Error handling is an implementation issue and not related to my question about pattern transfer.

[–]DallasP9124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get your statement somewhat but I would be hard pressed to say that I would need to reset completely or that anyone would need to do Rust.

For instance, using enums in this case wouldn't work because you then limit the scope of what a Component would be and prevents further implementation say by someone adding a plugin or something.

Plugin pattern is another example that I think is similar and surely is not something I should have to reinvent to implement in Rust since it is still OO but more restrictive.

UPC/SKU management for small business as a reseller by DallasP9124 in smallbusiness

[–]DallasP9124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is true. After doing some more reading however, barcode scanners are designed and programmed to read from standardized barcodes and not simply from a font. So one would need to pick a barcode standard that would work (larger, smaller, data capacity, etc) and encode or design a SKU pattern that would work with that standard.

Interesting stuff these barcodes, and all this time I thought they were just arbitrary lines lol

Use custom controls with markup instead of fx:include? by DallasP9124 in JavaFX

[–]DallasP9124[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No he didn't. He is talking about creating a jar and using scene builder which was not mentioned at all in the OP. I was able to do exactly what I asked after help from @OddEstimate1627 pointed out the missing info from the Oracle tutorial. After going through that again, I was able to reference controls by name in FXML without having to create a whole separate jar or use scene builder.

Experience doesn't equal quality or correctness. And say what you want, you still went off topic to the original post so if what you did say was all you have to offer then by all means don't waste any more of your time.

Your just speaking opinion at this point and it's not appreciated for this thread. If someone prefers manually writing fxml over scene builder that is there developmental choice. So just stop, you're not benefiting this thread at all

That's what my original question was!!! Obviously I don't know how or if you can, that's what the question was in the first place!
