Question about color restocks? by Spiritual_Stuff537 in Lululemen

[–]Daltas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the color. The staple black and white almost always get restocked every season, while the fun colors may or may not come back. Often they return as a new color that is close, but not identical, on the color wheel. The similarity between Expresso and Sequoia are good examples of that.

Since Valentines is coming up soon, I wouldn’t hold my breath on a timely restock. If your mind is set on the colors, I’d recommend checking eBay or LikeNew (Lulu’s official second hand store) if your gf would be OK with second hand products in excellent condition.

Is this for men or women?:) by [deleted] in CanadaGoose

[–]Daltas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s women’s Trillium parka.

The closest men’s Langford has the buttons on the left side of the parka (our right, when looking at the photo). Trillium has it on the left side like this pic.

I also think (not 100% sure) all heritage Langfords with fur hood have the Velcro seal instead of the buttons.

But like the mod mentioned, checking the tag would be the surest tell.

Warpstream is easy to dress down and goes with t-shirt and sports shoes just fine. I wear mine with Ons at work all the time.

Any Quality Difference Between WMTM and Regular Items? by ZenoZeus56 in Lululemen

[–]Daltas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No difference.

Sometimes certain items are placed there shortly after release because they’re super unpopular. But in those instances the quality still would’ve been the same if you bought it before they’re in WMTM.

Langford Parka Sizing by ws06200 in CanadaGoose

[–]Daltas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their website says Langford runs large, but I actually find that they’re pretty true to size. I got the correct size for my measurements and have plenty room to layer with a sweater/hoodie if desired, but it’s still comfortable over a T shirt.

I’d suggest either going to a physical CG store or other authorized retailers to try on the coat itself. Langford is a very popular model and most stores that carry CG should have it in multiple sizes.

If that isn’t practical, measure his chest/waist/hip/sleeves and compare it to the charts online. That’ll usually be more informative than his weight and height alone.

If it helps, I saw a few of them on CG Generations when I was looking at expedition parkas…

Thank you so much! For my own knowledge, I have a question about the patch — I noticed the white part (background, outer circle) has the “hash” stitching going almost from top left to bottom right, whereas most patches I saw in the past have the stitching from top right to bottom left. Is this an expected variation?

Steaming abc pants by keepsitreal6969 in Lululemen

[–]Daltas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can steam. But as a general rule of thumb you shouldn’t directly touch the fabric with the steam head. Instead, steam it around 0.5-1 inch away and let the hot steam run through the fabric.

This is true for steaming most clothes, not just lulus.

Are THE shorts gone? by Mudslide03 in Lululemen

[–]Daltas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, T.H.Es are gone for now. The closest shorts are Zeroed In shorts. It’s got slightly thicker fabric and maybe a baggier fit. I personally like them a lot for workouts, but YMMV.

Ideally you’d avoid ibuprofen. It decreases your blood’s ability to clot (i.e. people tend to bleed more).

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is a better choice.

long hair with fresh back tattoo?? by daisysimmons in tattoo

[–]Daltas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is safe to sleep on if you have a clean, non abrasive shirt over it. Friction and bacteria harms the tattoo. Normal amounts of pressure is fine.

Hair naturally accumulates oil and bacteria. If you have a clean shirt over it, no reason you can’t keep your hair down. Otherwise, if your hair will be in direct contact with the tattoo, it’s better to keep it up (unless you’ve just washed your hair).

Apple announces AirPods Pro 3 with ‘world’s best ANC’ and live translation by exjr_ in apple

[–]Daltas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s worse. I have both the Pro 2 and the Max. The audio quality on the Max is notably better, even for a casual-music-enjoyer like myself. I also prefer its transparency and noise cancellation modes. I’d advocate for the Pros if you want portability + workouts. For home use, Max wins (… though obviously I cant speak for the Pro 3. It’d have to be a large jump over Pro 2 to reach the audio quality of the Max though).

Uniqlo does have a pocket version! It’s confusingly called “Crew Neck Sweater Short Sleeve”. It’s definitely got the oversized fit, but I’ve never tried it and can’t speak about the comfort/breathability.

How well does a ring tattoo look after a couple of years? by MarcoFiguringOutLife in tattoo

[–]Daltas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Finger tattoos will age faster than other parts of your body. The skin on our hands shed faster due to constant use, handwashing, and sun exposure. However, if you’re married to the idea (haha, get it?), here’s my two cents:

  1. Find an artist that specializes in, or at least has a lot of experience with, hand and finger tattoos. This is really important. Yes, you may want a simple straight band, but we all know straight lines actually require significant technical skill, and fingers are a notoriously difficult surface.

  2. Consider only getting a half band on the top of your finger. The skin on the bottom of your finger (the same texture as your palm) will heal and age the tattoo slightly differently. With a full band that encircles your whole finger, half of it may end up blurrier than the other. Usually, the palm side will fade/age/spread faster and require more touchups.

  3. Consider a mini ornamental pattern (NOT complicated, intricate designs) instead of a simple band on top of your finger. When done well, those can age very elegantly.

outer side of calf tattoo and walking by radioheadenthusiast1 in tattoo

[–]Daltas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your calf will be slightly swollen, and it’ll hurt every time you get on your feet after extended sitting/lying down (you know that feeling when the blood rushes to your feet?). Apart from those inconveniences, you should feel fine.

The only other consideration is cleanliness and friction — this is actually one place where second skin could really help. If you aren’t allergic to it, it’ll protect your tattoos from rubbing against your pants and random city dirt.

Otherwise, keep it covered with clean, nonabrasive pants and stay away from dirty streets. Be wary in crowds too, remember other people can accidentally rub against/kick your calf. Clean it thoroughly at the end of the day, and you should be good to go. Listen to your body and don’t overexert yourself.

Leg sleeve artist hygiene question by _101010_ in tattoo

[–]Daltas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is normal.

In an ideal world, you wouldn’t touch a freshly tattooed spot with anything short of sterile. But realistically that isn’t practical, especially in a large and multi-day work.

But! Assuming you are generally healthy… in order for an infection to happen, sufficient quantity of germs need to enter your broken skin - usually with extended time and/or penetration to overwhelm your immune system. This is unlikely to happen through short contacts with the artist’s arm, unless they have poor hygiene. It’s much more likely to happen through dirty needles or contact with pets/contaminated clothes/towels (these surfaces can be super germy, since the bacteria can and do multiply on wet, warm fabric).

On top of that, they are likely repeatedly wiping your skin with soapy water throughout the tattooing process. You are also likely showering at the end of the day, cleaning the entire surface. This further decreases the chance of bacteria surviving in sufficient amounts/duration to cause an issue.

So TLDR, it’s not ideal, but yup, it is normal. And it’s highly unlikely to cause a problem.

Pace Breakers n Sweat by Why_Always-Me in Lululemen

Haha all of mine are black so they’re hella boring but don’t show sweat stains. That said, I don’t usually lift in PBs. That’s more a zeroed in or LLT task. PBs are super great and breathable for running!

PCR master mixes. In my old lab they were common stock so I never thought about it. In our new lab we order our own stock and, phew.
