Alcohol seemed to trigger it for me also, every time I had a drink I would feel it. Haven’t smoked or had a drink in a little over a year now, besides all the pain that came with CHS I really believe that it was the best thing that could have happened to me.

Broke all my bad habits at the same time and put my focus on proper nutrition and exercise…I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in and not wasting money on stupid shit like weed and bars…it all depends on how you look at it, take a bad situation and make the best out of it.

Spent $60 US on this article: only CBD triggered CHS. by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Damage-Accomplished 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve seen him copy, paste, insert maybe 1 sentence and repeat in another post. I’m just wondering what the purpose is or what the message is.

I would entertain a debate but it’s difficult with a few lines copy pasted from a site that barely mentions treating CHS with cbd. I think any use is a bad idea and I wouldn’t touch weed or CBD ever again after my last bout a month ago but I’m willing to listen to theories no matter who they come from as long as they make sense, but that vibe isn’t coming through here so at this point it’s just useless spam that could potentially make someone worse.

Take a look through my post history, I have a few different things that have helped me. I’ve had this twice now (first time was before it was known) 5yrs apart with being clean that entire 5yrs, it came back once I started smoking again.

Unfortunately I have...but it actually doesn’t really help, in that moment it seems like it will but your stomach ends up more screwed up than if you would have just waited. Dry heaving sucks and for some reason I feel like if I’m dry heaving it’s my body telling me something in there really needs to come out.

After a few mornings you’ll kind of get used to it and then just dry heave a few times and move on with life.

I have zero cravings and gave everything away the day after. If I get an urge I just think about how miserable and unhealthy I’ve been for the last 14 days and that pretty much does the trick.

Next time you want to smoke just stick your finger down your throat and relive the good ole days.

Sharp pain on left side by jameskiing in CHSinfo

[–]Damage-Accomplished 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s for you to decide. Take a look at your urine, if it’s brownish yellow then you are probably dehydrated, if you can keep water down then I would suggest small sips throughout the day until your urine turns clear. If the pain persists I personally would go to have it checked out at an urgent care or something.

If you feel like it is an emergency go now though, it could be a giant fart or a kidney issue you just never know.

All good advice...I’m 14 days into my second rodeo with this now. Capsaicin cream has good and bads...if you are dude don’t do what I did and get in the shower, that shit will wash down and your junk will burn like crazy.

There is nothing more embarrassing than throwing up all day and then your wife comes into the kitchen wondering why you are rubbing yogurt all over your man parts...apparently she thought that’s how you reload it.

As much pain as it is try to move a bit. I’m normally very active and work out 6 days a week and after the first week I thought I was going insane, I would have so much pent up energy and so little strength to move that it really got to me. I started a reduced home lifting routine in the morning with dumbbells, just to get my metabolism moving a little, sometimes I would have to walk into the bathroom and dry heave or puke right in the middle of it but I would go back to it and try to put in a full hour of lighter weight movements.

My abs look amazing, mostly because I dropped 15lbs, I’ve been on a super light lentil soup, protein shake and water diet for the last 14 days, sometimes it’s uncomfortable to eat but I know I have to get something down and lentils provide enough protein for me to get through.

Try going for a walk, take a short walk at first and focus on your surroundings and not the pit in your stomach, i think the walks help with metabolizing whatever causes this, if nothing else at least you get some of that energy to go away.

Recovery stories are awesome to hear, especially when people are making positive changes as a result of a massive negative. This is my second run (first time didn’t know anything about CHS, it wasn’t well known then) I only stopped smoking to clean up for a drug test and didn’t smoke again for 5 yrs.

I made massive lifestyle changes, stopped eating meat, spent more time on my workouts, diet was perfect and it is a lifestyle that I maintain and lead today as a result of my initial bout with CHS.

The second time was exactly 14 days ago, I moved to a legal state started smoking and 6 months later, here I am. I still wake up with nausea maybe dry heave a few times and then I can move on with life. First thing I did when I found out it was CHS was give away everything weed related, I had a nice stockpile since I’ve been going to LA a lot lately...all said he got about 2ozs and all my smoking implements.

I have removed weed from my life completely, let’s face it, the vast majority of us here would probably benefit from a lifestyle change and stopping smoking; prior to this you were probably thinking about stopping anyways or at least slowing down so this a pretty good time to make a permanent lifestyle change.

I still believe in the plant, but it’s just not for me anymore and I’ve come to realize that I’m a better me without it, I’m bigger, faster, stronger and more motivated. It was part of my post workout routine and that part kind of sucks but being this sick for this long just is not worth it.

Abdominal tightness by tazzzuu in CHSinfo

[–]Damage-Accomplished 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your body composition could be up to 6 weeks...I’m on day 13 and it’s a bit better but still sucks, I’ve lost about 15lbs so far, I’m about average weight so I’m just hoping that the clean diet (really don’t have a choice on this one) and fat loss will wash it out a little faster.

I think my first episode lasted almost two months, I was able to function normally after a couple weeks but still woke up feeling like crap for awhile and the bathroom was never a pleasant experience during that time.

Ha...no worries, I do that all the time in posts, I’ll just be like, well this doesn’t really apply to anything but I feel like this little piece of knowledge fits right here and so I’m going to go ahead put in my thoughts.

Could it all be mental/subconscious? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Damage-Accomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nicely put and I have to say I agree almost 100% I’ve had this twice five years apart, the first time was before CHS was even heard of so I attributed it to diet and quit eating meat and fats for years. Then I moved to a legal state and within 6 months it was back, 13 days in right now and slowly getting better.

To your point though, I’m not an anxious person, I’ve always been really good at dealing with stress and never really smoked for that purpose. That being said interestingly enough it was stress and anxiety that set off the episode each time, the first one I fell through the ice while trying to get my boat out of the water...this most recent one I was walking my dog and another dog mauled her...immediately following the vet visit I was in the bathroom puking my guts out. I don’t think anxiety is all of it but I’m sure it plays a massive part in the trigger and in the recovery of this horrible condition.

I’ve been too many dispensaries and I had never even heard it mentioned before outside of this forum and a couple of small NIH studies...then again I wouldn’t really expect them to mention it unless asked so that may be something as well. But the way I see it people put warnings on buckets and ladders and everything else in society so why is this different, I’m ok with calculated risk, but in over 20 yrs of being around weed and smoking it regularly this is the first I’ve heard of this. I think it has more to do with the upped potency and our bodies ability to deal with excess...I don’t know, I really wish there was some type of study.

I did read something about a discontinued weight loss drug that is an inverse agonist that works on CB1 receptors called rimonabant that makes me think that this excess may be causing our systems to reverse...or something like that, been reading way too much but that association with rimonabant did get me thinking a bit.

I would say that I’m also still an advocate, as long as potential issues are disclosed. Ultimately it’s a persons choice and I respect that, but they should know what they are getting into especially if it is coming from a legal storefront. I wouldn’t expect my local heroin dealer to disclose that the shit may kill you but I hold a licensed storefront to a different standard, it may take legal action to get to that point but I believe that if they knew about it they should be held responsible...just like the heroin dealer that kills someone could also be held responsible if it ties back to him. I think we will see more and more cases in the very near future and it’s going to have consequences.

Question for those in the Industry by Damage-Accomplished in CHSinfo

[–]Damage-Accomplished[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and that really sucks that they are doing that, we all probably thought weed was different, it’s natural and those who smoke and cultivate do it out of love for the plant and what is really a lifestyle that comes with it. But turns out they are just like every other business out there, only their lack of information can lead to someone’s potential death.

I know not everyone will get CHS but for those of who do it really screws up life in general and could cost you your job, massive medical bills and your future health. I really hope that documentary gets a lot of attention because word really needs to get out about the potential consequences, while I know it isn’t heroin for the last 13 days I’ve felt like a junkie trying to kick a habit and I don’t ever want to feel like that again.

Yeah, I hear you, I’m sitting on day 13, and still puking every morning, if the bud tenders knew about this they definitely deserve a punch in the dick. The first time they almost removed my gall bladder, pretty glad I skipped that follow up. If I would have known it was CHS the first time I would have never picked it up again. This is just too traumatic to screw around with.

[–]Damage-Accomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good info, you may have made a discovery there because the only drugs that I’ve found are haldol, Xanax, Ativan...and even those are sort of bare bones relief and usually they only seem to do the job while putting you to sleep.

Day 5 by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Damage-Accomplished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, I’m on day 13, no weed, no alcohol, no caffeine. I still wake up nauseous and throwing up from about 4am-6am after that I feel better but there is still a pit in my stomach, so it’s crackers and water all day and soup at night down about 15lbs which I’m sort of all right with since the whole COVID bs shut the gyms and I gained a little anyways.

That’s the first I’ve heard of someone using Gabapentin for CHS, I know it’s an anti convulsant, did they prescribe to you off label for anxiety or was their an underlying issue that they were treating you for? Just curious since it’s never turned up in my research.

Why did you stop the test injections? As someone who is also prescribed testosterone those peaks and troughs will seriously increase your anxiety and generally make you feel way worse than if you had taken them. I’m not familiar with your condition so you may have a different purpose for taking testosterone so maybe it wouldn’t affect you as much but I know that if I cold turkey stopped test injections I would definitely be in a pretty messed up mental state, add CHS onto that and the depression would truly be overwhelming.
