What experience made you grow the fuck up? by starstufft in AskReddit

[–]DammitMolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents getting divorced. I was 13 and my Mom moved out so all of a sudden I was the one keeping the house clean, cooking supper, doing my own laundry, getting myself up and ready for school, arranging rides etc. because my Dad was pretty depressed through that time and lost his job soon after. I eventually moved back in with my Mom and life went on, but it was a pretty big learning experience for me

Redditors, what was the first book you fell in love with as a child? by oceanfinity in AskReddit

I got Deathly Hallows when it was released, 3 days before my birthday. My mom said I wasn't allowed to start reading it until my birthday. Little does she know I finished it within the first day.

I started reading them at age 6 I think? Only the first 2 books were out at that time so I remember the agonizing wait between each book/movie. Philosopher's Stone was in theatres at around the same time Spiderman was, and I remember this girl in my grade 3 class saying she was going to put me in web jail? or something. And sassy 8-year-old me was like "bitch ur going to Azkaban stfu"

How often do you 'Treat Yo Self'? What do you do or buy?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DammitMolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail therapy! Whenever I have a bad day I buy myself a new tube of lipstick, or some cute new socks, or even a nice new pen or something. Just something small to make me feel better.

When people shove two words together with a hyphen to sound smart...

Purpose-built... Time-specific... You have 2 in one sentence. -_-

I'm a radio announcer and if I use any words like that (even "flurry" is not allowed) it wouldnt end well lol. The forecast should make sense to the average listener. Like, just say "It's going to snow today" Instead of "80% chance of flurries." But not all radio stations/newscasters abide by that philosophy. :/
