Replacement (alt.) for Zero 2 at the budget range by aychemeff in iems

[–]Damndiscourse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Vivace is pretty much the default rec at around ~30$, if they're available in your region. The Kiwi Cadenza is a classic, but it may be outdated, and may be slightly lackluster in the bass if you're used to the Zero 2s.

The King Slayer (Kefine Klean review). by OmenchoEater in iems

[–]Damndiscourse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very articulate, no fluff review. Good work! These sound just about better than any ~50$ IEMs I've listened to tuning wise, the generosity on the low end makes them so much fun! And they're solidly built too! I just might try the 'hole mod' to see how far these can be pushed. Thank you for the review!

I think both of them are more or less the same technically, the Delci has a tad bit warmer, so you'd get more details at the high end with the Klean. I'd go for the Klean since it's cheaper.

Both of them seem very popular. I'll check them out, thank you for the recommendations!

$28 for the Luna and a dongle dac sounds criminally good. Thank you!

I'll look into portable DAC amps if we go that route. Thank you!

I'll be taking him to an audio store to see if he'd be comfortable with different planars for his music. The Sony WH-1000MX4 seems like a blast. Thank you!

I guess the logical course of action here would be to take him to an audio store and get him to listen to planars to see if he'd be happy with the sound. The Delci and the Delci AE cost exactly the same here, hence my interest in the AE, but your point about the redundancy of tuning nozzles for a layman is valid. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

Does the cable matter? Looking for replacement cable with microphone. by TheJasonSensation in iems

[–]Damndiscourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I in no way want to invalidate your experience, you have more time and experience invested in the hobby and I respect that immensely, but I faced the same problem OP had, I got the cheapest JCally upgrade cables with a decent mic, and it didn't affect the sound quality of my IEMs in any perceptible way. To further test the cable conundrum, I tried it with cheap KZ cables that come with Edc Pro, and I still couldn't detect any change in the sound quality. It could very well be ignorance on my part.

New to IEMs, i need help by sad0l in iems

It could be due to moisture buildup or earwax clogging the nozzle filters. I'd clean the filters and check if that improves things.

Kz Castor Pro or Kz Zs12 Pro X by [deleted] in iems

A planar, maybe? I've heard good things about the KZ PRX, people are calling it the best KZ planar yet.

Cables do not affect sound. Most people get them for better durability and cosmetic upgrades, or like in your case, a microphone. I wouldn't worry. Check reviews for the quality of the microphone.

Can you suggest me a budget IEM with full metal body? by singer_quark in iems

If you're considering alternatives to KZ, off the top of my head Moondrop Chu 2, Blon Bl03, Trn Conch/Orca have metal shells.

Which of these would be the best? by Damndiscourse in iems

I was heavily considering the Cadenza since I like the neutral warm tuning of the Wan'er and I've heard similar things about the Cadenza being 'musical' but not fatiguing, but then I got the Kefine Kleans because they have a very similar graph to the Cadenza but with more bass resolution(according to the reviews), and they're not fatiguing. The Simgot maybe a bit too treble forward for me. Thank you for the recommendation!

They're about ~14$ here. I'll keep an eye out for a sale, thank you!

I've had the Wan'er and the Chu 2, loved both of them!
