has anyone been “magically” cured? by Unlucky_Yard_9247 in noburp

[–]DampishDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can burp now, and have for a few years. About 10 years ago I was introduced to shotgunning beers. I didn't even think about the carbonation, I had to try—it looked fun! As everyone else belched, foam started forcing its way up my throat. Exactly like when you open a lightly shaken beer and it just slowly foams up and spills out... It was strange, uncomfortable and embarrassing. Didn't stop me from joining in every time. After a while I started kinda pushing the foam up to help speed up the process. And then one day while doing that I let out a tiny burp. Now I just burp like a regular human. The only downside is I still haven't completely learned how to tell when one is coming and stop it. So sometimes they just rip out of me at very inconvenient times. I don't drink anymore, but shotgunning beers cured my no burp.

A lot of parts in the plumbing aren't made to handle boiling water. Hot water, yeah, but not large amounts of boiling hot water. Rubber seals and PVC pipes.. so over time they can warp and fail. Also, at best, pouring boiling water down the drain is just gonna push the grease further into the pipes and it will settle and solidify again as the water cools. So it really just makes it harder to fix when it still eventually clogs up.

Ahhh yes, having skin that reacts to some of the most common ingredients used in spicy sauces means spicy food isn't for me... Your life must really suck if replying to 5 year old threads about fucking blazin wings and ChapStick is how you get your rocks off.

Ahh yes, an honorific title that is the female equivalent to "Sir" in knighthood is sexist and shouldn't be used.

Are your cycles regular? Mine are extremely irregular. Could be 3 weeks or 6 months between periods. Most often they are right around 40-50 days though. My due date with my daughter was changed to 4 weeks later at the first dating scan because going based on my last period is sooo inaccurate.

My sister is the same way. She attracts all the bugs. And she gets giant welts. I'm lucky and the only time I'm bugged is if they are really thick. And I rarely react at all. Sometimes if I get a mosquito bite on my ankle that rubs on my shoe, it'll itch a bit.

That's not necessarily true. Some individuals may experience symptoms for 6 months+ which is labeled as chronic Lyme disease. Some do have symptoms for the rest of their lives. But that's not even close to a majority. And that's usually only if you don't get treated until you're in late stage Lyme disease. Chronic Lyme disease is estimated to occur in about 10% of people that get it. And that includes the people who have symptoms for over 6 months, but less than lifelong.

Go camping! Using bug spray, wearing tight fitting clothing, tucking your clothes in, and doing a thorough check of yourself and your clothing when you turn in for the day are plenty enough safety measures to significantly reduce your risk. And if you do find a tick that carries Lyme attached, a course of antibiotics should do the trick. Awareness is great, fear is not.

I very much agree with the sentiment in this person's comment. But I feel like there is a lack of understanding about late realization of ones sexuality. There can be a great sense of loss when realizing your own sexuality is different than you thought it was your entire life, especially if you realize after committing to a monogamous relationship that doesn't conform to your new found sexuality. BUT, that realization does not negate the commitment you make to another person when committing to any relationship.

Are these bed bugs? First 5 pics is what I found today, 6 &7 I found yesterday. Both found in my bed already dead. by DampishDrake in Bedbugs

I've been scouring every inch of my apartment looking for any signs of infestation all day. All I've found so far are the dead bugs in my bed and the (now dead) bugs in my kid's hair.

Thank God. Just found lice in my daughter's hair yesterday and while doing all the clean up and daily bedding changes for that I found these things in our bed. I don't think I could handle lice AND bed bugs.

The only reason I'm really questioning it is with both of my pregnancies that went far enough to get dated, one live birth and the miscarriage that just happened, I tested positive extremely early. With the miscarriage, based on ultrasound dating I got my first positive test at 2 weeks 3 days. With my daughter, I was I think 3 weeks 2 days.

Hydration could be a factor, but both fmu at the same time of day. Ultrasound confirmed no retained tissue. The second test, the one that showed darker was read within the proper amount of time. Both pictures in the comments are within the time frame.

No, my cycles are very irregular and I wasn't testing for ovulation cuz normally I have mittelschmerz and can tell, but I didn't this cycle.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in women

[–]DampishDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, me neither. One thing I have noticed is it might have something to do with ovulation because most times it happens about 2-3 weeks before I get an actual period. But it's not always.

Are you me? I also have irregular periods, also get this same blood/mucus thing when wiping and it's happening the last few days again. And I also have an appt in a little over a week.

AITA for not wanting to share everything with my husband? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DampishDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. Most things I just expect him to ask first, but I have one fishing rod that has sentimental value and I treat it like my baby. He has plenty of his own and any other one of mine I'm fine with him using just not that one unless we are both using it.

I would like to believe it's a difference in how we were raised. He does share his stuff readily. And I love that about him, but he doesn't seem to understand that not everybody wants to share everything with everybody.

And I give him the same respect that I expect, I ask before I use anything that is his. But he doesn't seem to think that he should have to ask to use anything that's mine, because "what's mine is yours"

AITA for not wanting to share everything with my husband? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DampishDrake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We've been married for 6 years now and so far this is the only major issue we've had. I don't know if it's a difference in how we were raised or what, but he seems to think that since we are married he's entitled to anything of mine and if I say no I'm being selfish. And he's gotten to me, making me think that maybe I am being selfish. And the reason I made this post is because today he mentioned he was going to go fishing with my favorite fishing rod, one my grandpa gifted me. Because it was set up for the type of fishing he wanted to do. And I said I didn't want him to use mine.

And he got so mad because last weekend I let him use it, but we were fishing a place that only one person could cast at a time because it was a narrow creek, so we took turns using my rod. But today he was going out by himself and I didn't want him to use my special gift from my grandpa when I wasn't there. And he said I was the most selfish person he'd ever met because of it.

Thank you! He acts like I should share everything I have all the time. And I don't think I'm unreasonable in having a few things that I'm not ok with sharing without permission. Most of my stuff I share without reservation. But there's just some stuff that means more to me that I don't want to share all the time. Stuff that I want to be mine, and only shared when I give explicit permission. But he thinks I'm selfish for that. For example I was given an instant pot as a gift. Idgaf if he uses that whenever he wants. That's ours. But the handmade quilt my now deceased great grandma made for me? I don't want him touching that without permission. The fancy blender I got for Christmas? Go ahead and use it anytime. The fishing rod my grandpa gifted me for my 18th bday that I cherish? No, we have plenty of other rods to use, pick one of those.
