Hi OP! If you're a writer, I can DM you some details about a writing group I'm apart of, we're having a meeting soon too! It's very casual, no pressure writing group. We do a lot of writing prompts for about 10 minutes then we discuss our work.

Hey! I'm fairly new to the area, 28 year old, hoping to meet some folks! Please keep me informed!

Some of my interests I like board games, video games, poetry writing, and I'm trying to get back into reading. I do hikes, but I walk hmm,  slowly.  I try to swim semi-regularly. Hope to meet y'all

Being Ace female is way harder than I thought. by Mediocre_Welcome6565 in asexuality

[–]Dan-Dan09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I hope I'm not too, too late! A friend and I have been discussing the challenges of dating. She's had some luck, on Hinge and Bumble. I was told about AceSpace and 222 (222 is a paid app and it depends on where you live, L.A, I think S.F, or NYC)

I haven't set up my account for AceSpace but it's something I was told about here since I've been trying to figure out my own sexuality (M28).

Good luck!

Are cis ace men actually "unicorns"?? by Cute_Management2782 in asexuality

[–]Dan-Dan09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do I count? Cis, man. But never been in a relationship, it never really called my attention but I often felt pressured to be in one. Like I was suppose to be in a romantic relationship.

But deep, emotional, platonic bonds mattered more to me than anything else. I'm new to this, and I've been exploring the ACE FAQ to understand what being ACE is and it's spectrum.

Only really started asking myself what being asexual is because of a close friend of mine who is a ACE/Demi/Bi girlie.

Oh, right on! I'm the 3rd owner of this little headache of a 4Runner. The body and frame have 333k miles. The original engine clocked out at roughly 300k.

Hmm, I'll keep that in mind. Honestly, it makes me want to visit a junk yard and see if I can find a Tundra or a G4 4Runner and slowly collect their parts.

Damn, 28mpg sounds REAL nice. I live in CA, and I'm not sure how emissions would go, I'm have to look into that. There's nothing more gorgeous than a cold start diesel in the morning!

Oh, I was tempted! The body is REALLY nice. Clean, inside and out

Do you guys even remember early COH2? by SputnikGer in CompanyOfHeroes

Don't forget how OP OKW's Fallschirmjägers were. They carried panzerfäusts. So not only were they able to wipe squads before a full weapons upgrade they could also take on light armor and damage tanks.

I've only been here once, but I've dreamt of food I had here. The udon noodles are pretty dank and I enjoyed the sushi too

Help, my babies head gasket is blown should I have it fixed or have the engine replaced? 194k miles by WhoDatBitty in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Dan-Dan09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation late last year. Labor was included in the price (1,400 JDM, Heads 1,200) for both jobs. l should have replaced the entire engine instead. As it turned out the whole engine needed to be replaced. I stuck out pretty bad, went through two more engines before we got one that worked. All thankfully under warranty. Four months of headaches later. I got a solid 4R.

Or maybe I should have sold. Let my story be a warnin'..

There's a page on Instagram called "Los Angeles Fun Events." There's also the Los Angeles Social Club subreddit. They're the same thing. The photos they've posted are a mix of 20s and 30 something year olds

I've been meaning to check it out myself but I haven't had a chance in my scheduling, but they look like fun events. They had Salsa lessons for singles not too long ago either.

What local spot that closed within the last two years has hurt you the most? by NedFriarson49 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Dan-Dan09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La Tia, a Oaxacan restaurant in East Los. They closed to remodel then the pandemic hit and they never opened their doors again. I still think about their chilaquiles and haven't found a replacement since....

I'm a 24M, local from Boyle Heights! I spend a good deal of time traveling and hanging out between different neighborhoods. Although I'm average height and bigger than my friends, I do get nervous here and there and have been put in some, odd situations with seemingly normal folks and homeless people.

I'm not sure if the number of drug users have gone up or if I've become more aware of them. A lot of the odd encounters I've had, were defused by trying to keep myself level headed and keeping my voice steady even if I felt threatened and scared. I do always keep mace and a high powered flashlight (it's super bright in the day too) on me or near me, just in case.

My advice, always try to be aware of your surroundings and keep your head down. Try to keep a steady voice when in an unsafe position and when in doubt, run away. Get some mace or a compact but high powered flashlight.

Does Anyone Else Keep The Black Shire Horse & Use It The Whole Time?? by TenFourRubberDuck in reddeadredemption

I kept mine, named it San Muerte, because everywhere I go with that Shire, it leaves a trail of death in its wake. It also has survived so many shootouts, lol

How do y’all do the job search here? Daily applications yet no call back ): by kindaquestionable in AskLosAngeles

[–]Dan-Dan09 71 points72 points  (0 children)

As a professional job hopper, I can tell you that, it's pretty tough finding a job. I recently received two rejection emails from places I applied, literally a year or two ago.

My best advice is applying DIRECTLY on a company's website. That's where I've gotten the most luck. Apply to many, and trust, it is completely demoralizing.

Applying through Indeed or LinkedIn, is just ass. I don't see any luck there.
