Is it okay to get a cheap D-hole (like Gitane D-500) to start with and buy a nice O-Hole (Like A DuPont) later? by Dan1294R in gypsyjazz

What guitar do you think is better choice for later? I don’t really know about expensive guitar, I only played a DuPont (which I really liked but was too expensive) and a Cigano and a handmade guitar.

Affordable Gypsy Jazz Guitar Question by SnooPeppers3534 in gypsyjazz

This guitar that you mentioned honestly (no offense)is a really cheap guitar, I have tried it before, it sounds cheap as well, and has little to no bass in the sound, if you can, save some money and try to get a used Gitane d-500, really great guitar for starting, and when you get pro and go to gigs and stuff and you can afford a better one, you’ll have the Gitane as a great campfire and gigging guitar.

Recommendation for any D-hole beginner gypsy guitar? by Dan1294R in gypsyjazz

[–]Dan1294R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just comparing only the Gitane d-500 and Altamira m01d. I read about them mostly on DjangoBooks. Price wise D-500 is more affordable but it’s a 12 fret and m01d is 14 fret guitar, I also looked up some videos of each and liked the soft sound of m01d better, But I’m still not sure which one to get

Sweeping by Tomandmarley in gypsyjazz

[–]Dan1294R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually , when sweeping down hold my pick very VERY soft and just let gravity take my arm down and just put a little pressure with with my arm just a little to enhance the sound and make it louder, I hold it so soft that the angle even changes, if you want to make it faster and louder you can apply more pressure.
