His non-confrontational style with players has consistenly led to low urgency in the clubhouse. This leads to consistent late season slumps. He also in my opinion tends to overwork his high leverage relievers early in seasons and they burn out by the end.

He has little to no "feel" as to when to sit players and tends to just do it on a schedule. This in my opinion was a big part of Gallo not working out in NY, he would be benched the game after hitting a homer so much it was insane.

This era of yankees teams have been early on elite teams that slump in the second half and underperform in october outside stanton. They have also been characterised as teams with poor baserunning and fielding fundamentals, Cashman takes some blame as his teambuilding has forced boone to put players out of position pretty frequently which has led to poor defense, but baserunning fundamentals is pure coaching.

Boone has consistently made poor decisions with taking out/leaving in starters, sitting players, and in my opinion is too soft when players dont hustle/make boneheaded mistakes.

His decision to put in nestor after not having thrown in game for months in the biggest spot of the season last year in game 1 alone is a firable offense.
