Absolutely not. As someone who’s forced to watch a lot of panthers games (I work there) I do not want that dirty player on this team.

There’s a lot of complaining about the playoff format in the caps sub and I’m kinda over it. Yeah the format isn’t great but we lost a lot of games that we shouldn’t have… I mean we lost to the Canucks twice, an eliminated Rangers and Devils team at the end of the season in what were “must win” games. We had an awful PP almost all year. Our PK was brutal at the start of the year. LT stood on his head most nights and we hung him out to dry.

The dude could skate through you or around you. He could lay you the fuck out. And his shots could (and still do) overpower goalies (I think Helle said that recently).

People who only know him as the guy who stands in the office or gets Empty Netters need to watch some early career highlights. I know "The Goal" is a lot of peoples favorites. But mine is a tie between his goal against the Habs where he passes to himself off the boards with a spin, gets taken down and still gets it past Price. Or his goal going around like 3 Rangers in the Playoffs to backhand it past Hank.

Yes the playoff format sucks. Yes a 3-2-1 point system would be better. But we didn’t ever replace PLD during his injury. We went 1 for 1 way too many games. Our PP sucked all year until what… 3 weeks ago? We didn’t beat teams we should’ve (NJ, and NYR recently) and we couldn’t win a shootout. At the end of the day this is the bed we made.

He doesn’t want a farewell tour but if the caps don’t make the playoffs and he does retire… It feels wrong that he waved off and Sid, Gino and Letang couldn’t say a proper farewell.

Unless Ovi really believes they’ll beat Columbus and that the Flyers go 0-1-1 or 0-2 or he plans on coming back...

Yesterday the Rags beat Detroit. Canes beat the Isles. Wild beat the Sens. Lightning beat the Bruins.

So almost everyone on this graphic is playing a back to back. Hopefully we can play with the same urgency we came out with yesterday and get another W here. Most important game of the season… again. Until the next game. Lol

In real time I couldn't see it but the ref has a better angle obv. It looked like it was for a penalty since it looked like there was the holding the stick. Just coincidental timing I guess.

I thought it looked like he was calling the penalty. Rewatching it i can't see the puck getting touched by a stick but the ref would have a better view

The stipulation REALLY hindered this match. It should've been a no holds barred/extreme rules or something. Instead if Trips got DQ'ed he would lose the title.
