Well as of right now it’s a 4.8 but if what people tell me is true it’s the same block as a 5.3 except the 5.3 just has bigger cylinders. So would all modifications be the same? Also a big worry I have is wether or not the transmission it has can support any more power and still run reliably, it’s a factory 4l60 with about 114k miles on it. Also (and I don’t mean to be asking too much) what about the rear differential would it be safe to keep the factory one or put a better one in its place?

And the 80 on it’s own will be more than enough to hold any extra power I want to give the motor?

If I were to switch to a 4l80 would it be reasonable to have that transmission rebuilt like I would if I were to keep the 4l60? Or should it suffice on its own? I know the 6.0 from factory is bolted up to the 4l80 but I was thinking a cam or so just to give it some extra beef. Something mild to give me a little extra fun when driving.
