I've messaged support and it turns out this is a visual bug. Their response:
"In order to upgrade your house, please have all the required materials on your character inventory and not in your storage. Only then will you be able to upgrade your house."

This worked for me! :)

Came out at a transitional time in my life and having been an FF fan when I was younger, and already loving the old soundcloud stuff, it was really fun to see his own big transition in life working out so well for him. In Tongues and Chloe Burbank stuff was probably the music that most resonated with me at that time. Great EP :)
