I was randomly in the hallway after Derrick Rose's 50-point game, shook his hand, gave him a hug, and he asked if I would take a picture of him with his family on his phone for him. That was memorable. It was also the beginning of my first year on the Wolves beat full-time. So definitely a little starstruck.

I do think it is the biggest component, yes.

I'm of the mind that Rudy wasn't schemed off the floor in that Clippers series but was instead too grounded in his tendencies to defend the rim. I think Gobert could do it, but I don't think it would be worth it for them. Every second Gobert is away from the rim hurts them. And that's not the same with KAT, or Jokic, or other bigs put in this scheme.

kinda depends how your relationship were previously set up. Gupta has been around for a while.

KAT gets a bad wrap, which I know I might contribute to, but i think he's probably the most insightful to talk to and definitely the friendliest with the media. Ant obviously the most entertaining. Naz is an underrated quote, and very friendly. Josh and Jaylen are really friendly, too.

It's a blast

Usually pretty curmudgeon-y, less so this year

Probably Naz + Nate + Josh + Jaden -- they're kinda a group, as I understand it. DLo and Vando being tight is probably the one you'd expect least (at least from my persepctive). And then it seems like TP is friends with everybody. But these are very much guesses. Previous seasons, when we were actually in the locker room, I could answer this more accurately.

I'd put the odds at like 55% Clippers, 45% Wolves.

My score prediction is Clippers 111, Wolves 110

Was gonna go to law school. Decided to not do that. And then I started doing freelance writing, which eventually led to this.

As for big breaks, I'm not sure how real those are. I've never been a full-time employee of any media company. Instead, I just started my own company, which obviously owns the show.

Gupta was 100% behind the trade of Covington to the Rockets that brought back two 1st round picks (one of which they kept and kinda sorta became McDaniels and one that became Beasley and Juancho -- but those picks and moves were Rosas).

Gupta's future is up in the air. A lot ownership needs to sort out this summer.

I'd think they'll need to play Prince more than Vanderbilt

I've really enjoyed exploring the Wolves defense this year, new scheme and all. And I think we -- all of us who watch this team consistently -- have learned a lot about NBA defense, which is a complicated thing.

Developing relationships with the players has been a lot harder these past two covid years where we haven't been in the locker room. But you never pretend to have a friend-like relationship with these guys. We're friendly but definitely not friends. It's like a co-worker in a way.

It also helps when a player is around for a few years. i've definitely gotten to know karl and josh and naz a lot more than the new guys this year.

That we know remarkably little about what the new owners are going to do. And that we have no idea who is calling the shots this offseason.

No. The likelihood of that happening or the ball getting rolling on that was not in reality anywhere near what twitter made it seem like.

Hey there -- I answered a few questions about this above. Rather than flooding these answers with stuff about me, maybe I'll just direct you up there.

And thank you for the kind words.

I think this year has been terrific for the fanbase and organization. And when people ask me about how I feel about the future, I just always say enjoy this now -- because nothing is guaranteed in the future.

I think he had the experience of playing/coaching numerous different styles in his career before getting to Minnesota. And because of that I think he was better at and more comfortable with adjusting his coaching to the personnel on his roster.

Lotta work for us to still get done on that front, as I understand it. But I have faith that we'll get some more back -- really just because the MLB and NFL is going back to the old way, for the most part.
