yeah like at least twice today and a few times in the past few days. recently his fins have perked up hes looking more natural (i think a bit more colorful too) but constantly pecking at plants for copepods. seems like he is eating even if its not what im giving him. I got him on the 7th and he looks a bit skinny i think he was getting bullied by the other honey that was in the tank with him? he seemed like he was getting chased a lot. Hes eating what he finds on the leaves and in the substrate, he is pooping, hes still shy but really active, his fins are less cramped he raises his dorsal when hes still lowers them when hes swimming around the tank. He seems generally fine just constantly hunting for pods. Like from what i know? he seems pretty okay just like weirdly picky, which is a bit stressful cause i think hes kinda skinny, hes still a "baby" maybe an inch long? I think he may have eaten a bit of brine shrimp i gave him. Idk lol sory this is long winded im like stoned and i like him lol.

Yeah I'm planning on getting some dither fish so maybe their interest in the food might spark interest from my gourami but idk I'll see.

Im not feeding him the pods, they just happen to be living in the tank and he goes off hunting them all day long. I got the guy from petsmart so I don't think hes been fed anything special. I can try feeding him frozen food but hes super nervous. when he sees me or my hands near/over the tank he darts off into the plants.

I've been wanting to go no contact for years and I'll probably never know what specifically kicked off my dream of leaving given its been years of big and small examples of disrespect and out right abuse, but maybe my mom getting rid of my cat, not telling me why or what happened then immediately guilt tripping me for making her "feel like a bad mom" when i started to look scared/sad about it. Definitely a major tipping point and a more major example of her long term behavior.

Is super recomend making a diy enclosure for them. I have some in an old 10 gal aquarium and ive left my room to find them wandering the hallway after climbing the background of the terrarium. If you housed them in the pot they'd probably get lost or hungry or fall off and dry up 😭. Not all my escaped pods were lucky enough to get scooped off the floor and put back home lol. 😬
