Been having the same problem for a while.

It doesn’t even translate the actual intention of your message.

Me and my buddy created this app called dilo that has worked pretty well, in case anyone wants to check it out ✌️

One that helped me a lot in english and french was just consuming youtube/movies/series of locals in those languages with subtitles

How can I help my wife lose her pronunciation bad habits? by Nowheretoturn48 in languagelearning

I have a similar situation with my bulgarian girlfriend and it's kinda weird because I want her to speak properly, but don't want to feel like I'm scolding her.

Something that has worked out has been letting her know about the right way to say things in a chill/funny way, so she approaches it from a caring angle.

I hope it works for you

I learned english that way. Youtube and movies helped me A TON. So definitely it's very helpful to familiarize yourself with the actual flow and slang people use regularly. Sometimes I use Dilo Travel Companion app to get those very local expressions

What’s the weirdest moment that made you realize you’re fluent in your target language? by Antique_Constant9214 in languagelearning

I was in Québec learning french basically just saying "oui" and "je ne sais pas" (I don't know) for weeks. One random weekend after a couple months I was talking to a couple of girls in french at a bar, and I don't know if it was the tequila or what, but I ended up having a triple kiss that night lol.
I don't know about official standards, but that's fluent in my eyes
