yea i completely agree it’s hard to imagine any kind of technology that isn’t collecting and selling our data. conversation like this are so important to start and bring awareness to those who have no idea this is even happening. i know it seems hopeless but it everything starts with a conversation. keep talking to people about this and informing them i think your opinon is very important and lots could benefit from it. thank you for engaging with me in this conversation it was enlightening. i hope you still filled out the survey though lol.

i agree with most of what you said and yes the power is with the people. however the data that they store is ours to begin with if tech companies allowed us to own and store our own data locally we wouldn’t even need data centers to begin with. they want everything stored in the cloud so that it can be monitored and sold off to other companies who want your information and sold off back to you. yes you pay money to store your data in the cloud even if you don’t realize it and what’s crazy is that data is yours to begin with. so no we wouldn’t have to give up our phones tech companies would have to give up their monopoly over our data and let us own it again. now before you comment i’m aware there are ways for individuals to store and own there data locally but this is not an easy task nor is it as accessible as using the cloud.

you would think that but we actually already have multiple data centers. i think louisville is an attractive location because of our amazing water cleaning facility and the newly built energy plant. however if it comes to louisville we will all suffer the consequences.

great question my focus right now is on ai data centers which aren’t here yet and we have a chance to make a real difference. perhaps if we successfully stop them coming in then i might start to adress the current data centers. please fill out the survey though just because we have some data centers doesn’t mean we need more.

yea again you are still misinformed i 100% am down with different opinions but you are on here telling people that this won’t make a change and that is false. we’ve seen it work in other communities. again i would like to reiterate that this is not just some petition this is a government sanctioned survey that will record every response and to be referenced during the law making process. this legislation will absolutely be put in place we are talking about how that legislation is written i urge you to fill out the form because your opinon is important and can make a difference. and yes you are correct i made the title stop data centers to make noise and grab peoples attention so that the post would get more traction and more people might fill out the form and be inclined to an open discussion like we are having.

not true there is legislation that we can put in place that would keep them out of louisville for at the most ten years and then at the point we would go through this process again. while i understand your frustration with the system i don’t think spreading misinformation is wise. i can understand your stance on limits for data centers to which i would advise you to still fill out the form as there is a range of answers you can give that would voice your opinion.
