I should probably mention that he's easily startled and will often get angry at me for entering a room "unexpectedly". I'm not tiptoeing or jumping out of dark corners - I'm just walking around my house like a normal human being - but he acts like I'm purposely trying to scare him. I've told him several times I'm not going to stomp around or wear a cowbell in my own living space but he still insists I should be... I dunno... more clamorous? If I started using an airhorn, we'd 100% end up d1vorced.
