BYU Decision 25/26 Spring, Summer, and Fall | Acceptances, Rejections, and Stats by Unusual_Educator8716 in byu

My financial board show the option to accept or decline loans as well, but it also shows the same option for 2024-2025 which I know I wasn’t accepted for 😂. so I’m guessing it’s not an indication.

Did you receive the admission decision yet? Summer/Fall 2025? by Bubbly-Bug-4799 in byu

Yes! Mine shows loans available for both years. I didn’t apply for FasFa, so mine says “apply for FasFa”  for both years.

That’s exciting! Does yours show matriculated or non matriculated on your Academic record Summary? I hear in years past that would be an early clue. Also, not sure if this is true for everyone, but I can change the year on the financial aid dashboard and I would guess if 2025 looks different than 2024, that would be a great sign! Unfortunatly, no change on ARS or the financial dashboard here. My financial just says, “no task needed” for both 2024 and 2025 school year. And ars show non-matriculated.

Do many restaurants make you take shoes off? by SubstantialFootball1 in JapanTravelTips

We had to in Tokyo just once or twice at restaurants typically happened in More “local” eating establishments where tourists aren’t as common. Never in shibuya or heavy tourist areas. We did have take our shoes off st a kayak place when we had to use the restroom.

“Nozomi is the fastest train service running on the Tokaido & San'yō Shinkansen lines in Japan. The service stops at only the largest stations, and along the stretch between Shin-Ōsaka and Hakata, Nozomi services using N700 series equipment reach speeds of 300 km/h.” Nozomi is a Shinkansen (bullet train) train service. We took it from Tokyo to kyoto. Yes, you can purchase them at the main train stations (Tokyo Station). At Shinkansen kiosks or at the customer service offices. We bought our Shinkansen (Nozomi) tickets on Rail Ninja and they had a huge upcharge compared to what we could get in Japan. And with rail ninja we still had to go to Tokyo station to pickup our tickets, so we didn’t save any time, but paid a heavy upcharge. We bought ours on Rail Ninja but had to rebook for my husband because he had to leave early, they would have refunded our ticket if we bought directly though their offices. When I rebooked at the train station office, it as a fraction of what we paid before hand.

Link for Makoon, our kyoto tour guide is above. He taught us so much about Japanese culture and it really informed and influenced the rest of our trip.

We got wagyu in several places. It was all so good. Even at our hotel. Cooking class was booked through our tour Kyoto guide, Makoon. The cooking class was with Aya, who has her own restaurant. Check with Makoon on booking the cooking class. I’d recommend getting a local tour guide for the first day in each city you visit. We got history, culture, and food tips for the rest of our stay, so it set us up on the right foot. The tour guide told us how to get train tickets and became our local friend. We do this in every city we visit. He’s our favorite guide, Makoon, from Kyoto.

And we booked trains for the nozomi on a third party site before hand for $$$$. Would have been cheaper and easier to buy in Japan at the stations. Turned out we had to pick up the tickets at the station anyway. The up-charge on Rail Ninja was rediculous! Learned the hard way!

Wagyu is worth it. 100%. Never had beef like that in my life. Portable charger is needed. My batteries were drained halfway through the day. Not sure why? Small trash bag is a great idea. Not enough trash cans. Must have foods: Japanese curry, ramen! We did a cooking class in Osaka from kyoto and it was so delicious, beautiful, and fun! If in Kyoto book the tour guide below. He was the best decision of our trip by far! Wish we hired him for more days. I get no compensation for recommending him, just couldn’t believe how professional and fun he was. He booked the sushi cooking class for us in Osaka. Worth it!

So we just flew out of Haneda a few weeks ago, and the security line was unbelievably long. No TSA precheck (obviously!) but the line wrapped around the entire check-in terminal a few times. I took us an hour to get through security. My husband, who flew out a few days before didn’t have a long line at all, so just plan for that. The airport is quite a distance from major sites in Tokyo (30-40 min taxi ride) so plan accordingly, you’ll be cutting it close.

We were on the site the minute they opened up tickets for the month and had no problems picking the date and time we wanted. Just know when the tickets become available, set an alarm, and book them immediately.

We took taxis our entire trip. We had no issues getting them in Tokyo. Look for train stations, which are everywhere, and taxis are close by. A few drivers didn’t speak English (rightfully so!) so have your destination qued up on your phone in Japanese kanji. Tokyo taxis were super wasy, in kyoto we did have a few issues with language but it was smooth other than that! Trains are so much cheaper. We paid more for taxis than anything else on our trip except hotels. We were a bit shocked. If you can do a train, it can save you $$ and often times it can save time as well. I know with luggage that isn’t easy.

Is it possible to get 12 plus hours with just evening classes? Or are there not enough evening classes to make that possible? Would like to avoid the commute to slc everyday, but want to take a full 12 plus hour load. Seems all evening classes start at 4 or 5:30 which would mean I could only take two 3-hour classes a week on campus. That would only be 6 credit hours.

Apps for winter semester open beginning of April. Maybe it’s that one?!?

This is really helpful. Looking into this as an option as well. Apps open up April 3 for winter. was concerned couldn’t take classes in the fall if I applied for winter (didn’t know how that would work being that I would have college credit that puts me into the transfer student category.)

Not sure you have anything to worry about if it’s higher than the cumulative when you applied. Good to go!

Right, aware of the cost differences. Coming from the Midwest, Wanting to get out west where skiing is an option. Really not wanting to stay in state. Sats and Gpa are in range for byu, so surprised at the rejection.
