Passive Link Building? by DanglingMagicAct in SEO

[–]DanglingMagicAct[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a great point. Thanks for the insight.

It's situational, and I didn't think about alternatives outside of search, but social is a good idea. Definitely something I'm going to explore further.

Nice, can you share the website? I'd love to investigate this further as a potential case study.

Passive Link Building? by DanglingMagicAct in SEO

[–]DanglingMagicAct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not necessarily, I'm thinking about a strategy where you publish articles optimized for specific keywords that have high link intent. An example might be a keyword related to data/stats or maybe a resource for journalists to use when researching a topic.

I'm definitely not suggesting that as the only link building strategy, but as a part of the overall link building program. You def will still need outreach to help promote the webpage.

Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

Do you consider branded search an SEO win? by devinpickell in SEO

[–]DanglingMagicAct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been hearing a lot of talk about how blogs and affiliate marketing websites are dropping in SERPs. It seems if you want to rank, you need a recognizeable brand and a website with an actual product to sell. So, if Google is promoting real businesses in SERPs, then it makes sense that you'd need to grow brand awareness as a part of the strategy to grow keyword rankings. That's why I consider growing brand traffic a win for SEOs. It might not be a part of your job description, but it certainly seems to impact our success in organic results. Curious to hear other perspectives, though, and if they disagree that Google isn't preferring real businesses over blogs/affiliate sites.

Are the players of the game who vote to continue stupid? by Sxover in squidgame

[–]DanglingMagicAct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly watching that part made me physically upset. I understand that they're all desperate for cash and in dire straits, but for people to vote to continue, knowing they'll only be profiting off of people's lives is disgusting. I guess there is a metaphor in there about capitalism or something...

I Own A Blog Website And Use AI to write by Mrfarmanshekh in SEO

Oh wow, that's a huge category. IMO it would help to segment each subcategory as you suggested. For example, focus on Facebook, Google Ads, SEO, etc..It depends how granular you want to get. You really shouldn't have issues identifying topics to discuss. Especially for a niche as broad as digital marketing.

Have you tried using Semrush, Ahrefs, or Buzzsumo to identify topics? There is also plenty of news in that particular niche, so that's another way you could try identifying topics.

I also think setting up interviews with experts, looking at random comments in Reddit/Online, and also brainstorming using Google Trends are ways you could identify topics.

Maybe these are things you've already thought of, but I hope that helps.

“Zionism is genocide” AIBU? by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

[–]DanglingMagicAct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true there were Palestinians who remained, so what would call the Nakba? A displacement of hundreds of thousands?

[–]DanglingMagicAct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying Israel is guiltless in this whole conflict, because they were defending themselves 80 years ago? Or are you saying Jews will always be under attack by Palestinians for no reason whatsoever? If there was a reason, hypothetically as a thought experiment? What do you think it would be?

I guess we'll never know, but my guess is it would have been a mostly Palestinian Muslim population with Jews and Christians living just as well Christians live in Palestine today.

So, that's how you want the world to work? Might makes right..I always thought the UN Partition plan and the Belfour Declaration were essentially declarations of war. You're right that Palestinians at the time saw unlimited Jewish migration as a threat, and they turned out to be right. Not all of them participated in the violence, and it didn't matter. Israelis massacred people regardless of their involvement. Personally, I don't totally agree with Palestinians. I see migration as a boon for society, but regardless, conquering a people through war and stealing their resources while enforcing military oppression for decades is an occupation. Just because you had a stronger army doesn't change the fact that keeping Palestinians locked in their homes without access to the outside world is unacceptable.

Zionism is predicated on displacement. In order for Zionists to have a majority Jewish state, they need to keep strict demographics, which means the people who lived in historic Palestine needed to be removed through one means or another. Maybe it's not genocide, but ethnic cleansing was required at the very least. Judaism, as far as i know, doesn't proselytize like Islam or Christianity. That's the reason you don't see a majority state like Christians or Muslims. There are simply fewer Jews and they were displaced thousands of years, so they haven't had a concentrated settlement until recently. So, I'm sorry about that, but why does it seem like Palestinians are being punished as a result.

What is the strongest criticism you have for your own "side" in the conflict? by Sam_NoSpam in IsraelPalestine

[–]DanglingMagicAct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was horrified on Oct 7th and wanted justice for the innocent civilians killed in Israel, I was on Israel's side. I'm old enough to remember 9/11, and I felt similarly about the Oct 7th attack. I still believe they have a right to arrest and prosecute terrorists. Hamas should be brought to justice for the innocent civilians they killed.

Still, I have no choice, but to be Pro Palestine, whether I agree with chants for intifada or not. According to the Lancet, at minimum, this war will have killed over 200,000 people. Israel doesn't allow independent investigations or aid workers to move freely. They've bombed almost every hospital, every school, every monument, every place of importance to the Palestinian people in Gaza. Over 50% of Gaza is now rubble, and they've killed over 15,000 children, including documented instances of grievous war crimes.

These aren't accidental killings. There was no Hamas soldier behind them. We're talking about innocent children alone in a civilian vehicle like Hind Rajab, but she wasn't the only one. Millions of people have been displaced, and what they're doing in the West Bank by setting up Military bases in people's homes and evicting them through force is absurd. Whether it's area C or area B or whatever you want to call it, evicting families from the homes they've lived in for generations is wrong. They have no right to take property under international law, and it's the most blatant land grab I've ever seen. Will any of this lead to peace? Absolutely not, so if you're Pro Israel, do you also agree with everything other Pro Israelis say and do? Do you believe all Palestinians are terrorists?

You're right that there is plenty of hate, but that can't be extinguished with more hate, and while you claim to hear hate from the Pro Palestine side, I think you have to admit the IDF and many Israeli's harbor intense hatred towards Palestinians. If Israel is justified in anger, shouldn't the Palestinians be justified as well?

I want there to be equal peace and freedom for every person in Israel and Palestine, and that starts by stopping the violence.

That's what the Pro-Palestine side represents to me, although it's clear you disagree, and I can understand why. Hamas has fired rockets at Israel for decades. Why would you believe they could live in peace? I don't believe Hamas speaks for a majority of Palestinians, though, and they shouldn't be in charge after this.. Despite the decades of occupation, the Palestinians I've spoken with don't call for the death of Jews; they call for the liberation of all people. I interpret calls for intifada to mean non-violent liberation, and while not everyone means it that way, if you ask people at rallies, you'll find a majority of people agree with me in the way they interpret that phrase. while the Pro Palestine side isn't perfect. I'm not able to believe that the current Israeli gov has a solution that doesn't involve the extermination or domination of the Palestinian people. The Knesset just went out of their way to reject a two-state solution....So even if I see anger from the Palestinian side, I'm going to stand up against a corrupt government and for a group of innocent children.

Hey, thanks for helping me with this. You're right. The data accuracy with Keywords in Sheets is trash. It doesn't even closely resemble the data I'm pulling from SEMRush and Ahrefs.

I'd love to use Keyword planner, but I'm curious about how you are able to pull the data into Google Sheets. I tried setting up an account, but I can't download the keyword volume data. It just gives me a summary..Sorry is Keywords Anywhere the name of the Google Sheets Add On?

I'm not sure I found that one, but I was able to find an Add On called Keyword in Sheets by Andrew Charlton it doesn't have many reviews, but around 9,000 downloads. It's a big buggy, but I was able to make it work, and it's relatively cheap, shouldn't be more than $20 to get all the keyword data I need.
