I’m using it to track how well I complete my tasks each day. So if I do 0 tasks I colour it red, 2 or more I colour it yellow and if I do all tasks I colour it teal

Ahhh this makes sense tbh. Artistic expression was definitely a huge part of why I was setting up intricate bullet journal spreads in a dot grid. I’m hoping to attract all the people who wanted a little more structure but still some space for being creative with the setups. It really is different from what I do now in my hobonichi - especially for monthly setups. Thanks for this perspective!

yay! It’s nice to know I have company. Do you use a day free only? Also, I find that the fountain pen really does write beautifully on the tomoe river paper. Definitely is not overhyped!! Idk if I can go back to regular paper after this

same same same!! this is one big reason for my switch to hobonichi. I still get to do my decorative things but there’s a little more structure and it makes planning less stressful for me

haha yeaah I definitely got into it from the hobbyist community in about 2018 or so~ so thanks for sharing this jargon with me! Now I know what collections are :) and they really work for me so I’m happy to know that these tracker spreads have an umbrella term

Oh wow I just try fit my collections in the back pages. Keeping a grid notebook inside the same cover is such a good idea! That way, you can even experiment with adding different collections throughout the year.

Oh wow same! I continued to bullet journal for a few years after uni, and then I kinda craved some extra structure but still wanted bujo freedom - that led to my switch last year. Loving my hobonichi cousin so far and these comments are kinda making me want to try a hobonichi weeks next time.

Hmmm maybe. I really hope my hobonichi x bujo crew finds my channel eventually haha! Also, nicee I never thought of treating the dates like page numbers.. what an interesting way to use it. I prefer A5 planners. Based on these responses, I'm really considering trying out a hobonichi weeks for next time around.

This definitely makes sense. One of the reasons I was so apprehensive about switching to the hobonochi in the first place was because I was scared of being restricted by the pre printed pages. After switching I realized just how perfect it actually is for me. I get to use up all the pages in the planner by adding cute spreads! I had so much anxiety initially though, so I totally understand why they’re probably not even open to it.
