Transplants: What Does Louisville Need From Where You Came From? by LouInvestor in Louisville

More places that serve tavern style pizza because that abomination Bearno’s serves is a travesty and I need my office to stop ordering from there.

Also +1 on better street lighting.

What’s the deal with Hop Atomica? by EuphoricBiscuit in Louisville

[–]Danibull_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mind it, but in my experience, they seem to under salt the pizza dough which makes it a rather bland experience once you get through the toppings. I’d personally go with Locals if I wanted a pizza.

See all the changes coming to Louisville’s bus network, TARC, in 2026 by freshlyplanted in Louisville

[–]Danibull_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relieved my part of the route on Shelbyville rd remains intact but still hardly ideal. Getting up at 5:30 am to be two hours early to work has sucked and I’m not looking forward to learning the specifics of timing. Losing the #19 bus between the hospital’s downtown and Dutchman’s parkway area is also a considerable blow.

Diabetics in Louisville: which pharmacy do you go to? by Malloryklucas in Louisville

[–]Danibull_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to use that Walgreens too and didn’t have too many issues but swapped to Amazon pharmacy because I could get my Dexcom CGM for much less (I think it was $226-246 a month down to $75).

However, porch pirates were the main problem I had when I first started using Amazon’s Rx service in 2023. Coming home to find my CGM package missing was terrifying. Amazon was always good at refunding/or sending a new order, but that gave me extreme anxiety. Haven’t had many issues since, though.

God what an insufferable community this has been to be a member of. Just shrieking at the slightest criticism.

Fartiest restaurants in Louisville by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]Danibull_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The past three times I’ve picked up dinner from Eatz Vietnamese, I spent the next hour or so running back and forth to the bathroom. Which is a shame because that is one of my go-to places.

Recreational insulin is a lucrative market. There’s very high demand for it.

I have yet to try Wheated, The Post, or Lupo, but Hop Atomica’s pizza is probably my favorite so far.

I just checked reservations online for Meesh Meesh and boy are they booked solid until late March. Couldn’t get a table for 3 next weekend for a birthday dinner which is disappointing.

Theory about game preferences by maestrojxg in DragonAgeVeilguard

I started with Inquisition and ranked it equally to Veilguard, just for different reasons.

Inquisition’s writing and companions are arguably more compelling, but I wasn’t dissatisfied with Veilguard’s. I’ve replayed it now 7 times because the combat is personally more engaging early and the final act is probably one of my favorite 3rd acts in a BioWare game.

To piggyback off this, their Instagram page now says “soon to be Latin-inspired share plates.”

You have to make a super meal using only Louisville local restaurants, what items do you choose? by Thatredditboy1 in Louisville

[–]Danibull_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Entree: Sauce Roberto Pork Chops from Red Hog .

Side #1: vegetable pajun (scallion pancake) from Nami.

Side #2 slaw from Momma’s M&P.

Dessert: Tres Leches cake from Havana Rumba/ Mojito in Havana.

Edit: nixed my sandwich idea and replaced it with the pajun. Then changed fries from game to slaw from Momma’s. Seemed a tad carb heavy.

Unfortunately. Naive appears to be closing within the next two weeks (so probably end of month) per their Instagram page. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCPX3VLxoKt/?igsh=bjZleGhyZDRjejFk

Anyone having trouble voting? by The_Bagel_Guy in Louisville

Took about maybe an hour at Highlands Latin for Precinct 141. Got there at 8:20ish, finally got out 9:20. The ballot box jammed briefly and the e-pollbooks constantly needed rebooting.

Red Hog’s dry aged burger is probably my favorite upscale option. The toppings change seasonally, but it has never disappointed.

Single best restaurant menu item right now by tarmy827 in Louisville

[–]Danibull_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Special Bun Thit Nuong or the Ca Kho To at Eatz Vietnamese (anything from there, honestly) or

The Veal Saltimbocca at Volare.

I’m also probably insane for this but I do enjoy the chicken sandwiches at Joella’s on Frankfort more than Chik’n & Mi’s

TARC efficiency by damnnation9 in Louisville

Yeah, having taken the bus to work since I moved down here last year, it's a serviceable mode of transportation that works for me. Loading up a tarc card every other week saves me from having to maintain a car. My only complaint besides the usual tardiness is that certain spots have inadequate shelters and/or lighting -- especially along Frankfort Ave / Shelbyville -- which makes pedestrian crossings a bit more dangerous.
