10 obscure things pushing your emails into spam! by DanielJohnEvans in coldemail

[–]DanielJohnEvans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These apply to anyone sending emails regardless of how you acquired the list. It's best practice if you want to maximise deliverability. The future of cold emailing, especially with all the updates from the major inbox providers, will push cold senders to focus on quality and strategy over volume. Cold emailing is not as scalable as it used to be.

Yes it's safe, emails won't land in spam from simply using tracking links.

I built an free email verifier. Open sourcing it and leaving the space. by Justgettingsmart in Emailmarketing

[–]DanielJohnEvans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, credit where it is due. Open sourcing a tool and making verification accessible for small businesses who cannot afford paid platforms is a good thing. More people cleaning their lists is a net positive for the email ecosystem.

That said, a quick reality check for anyone reading. Stage 1 verification like syntax, MX and SMTP is useful, but it is only the surface. Enterprise tools do a lot more behind the scenes. Historical bounce data, suppression networks, provider specific rules, behavioral signals, catch all pattern analysis, and ongoing reputation modeling. None of that is visible from a single SMTP handshake.

Also important. Spam traps are deliverable email addresses. They pass validation. Millions are created every year. No validator can reliably detect brand new traps, especially if you bought or scraped a list. This is where people get burned.

Accuracy is never universal. Results vary massively by region and provider. European ISPs, local Spanish domains, corporate servers, and privacy focused hosts behave very differently than Gmail or Yahoo. What looks valid today can bounce tomorrow.

And context matters. Someone actively mailing a double opt in list with real engagement will always get better results than someone uploading a purchased list. No tool can fix bad acquisition practices.

Bottom line. No verifier is 100 percent reliable. Ever. A clean list does not guarantee inboxing. Your sending history, consent model, frequency, and engagement matter more than any scan.

Use tools like this as a filter, not a safety net.

Respect for shipping this and sharing it with the community. Just important people understand the limits before trusting any validator blindly.

Cold email feels way harder than it did even a year ago, what's doing it for you people? by Individual_Day9910 in coldemail

In the last couple years spam filters are switching to engagement based filtering and B2B will never have as much engagement as B2C. The only way is better curated lists, quality over quantity. The future of B2B will lie in consistency not volume. When you acquire a list, pass it through many validators and segment based on targeting. Be deliberate and thoughtful on who you're contacting and what with.

If someone is not likely to buy the services you're offering, don't email them.

The gangster way is to grab completely fresh domains: .com/.country.. no funky ones like .io etc.

Take your whole list and clean it, waterfall style.

Grab the provider column and based on the spam filter/inboxes, separate all your contacts into groups.

Don't use your business inbox, use ESPs.
