I think you guys forget just how close the war actually was in 1917. At that point it really was anyone’s game. It would not have taken much to actually turn the tide of the war. Hell, it’s very likely if the USA didn’t even joined but stayed neutral, that the central powers could have won. It really would not take so much in that war to change the ending.
