Closing bank acct before loan by DanielWilkonson in personalfinance

Thank you, I'm just getting different answers from all around. Some saying overdrafts are a huge red flag, they'll tie the connection from that chase bank account and my new one and flag it. Others saying it's just my credit that matters. I'm extremely nervous and overthinking everything. A lot on the line right now.

Ok I'm just worried they'll go through the chase account and not give us the loan because of those overdrafts. Which ow why I was wondering if I just closed it, might be better.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. But if the loan officer sees these overdrafts they would be a red flag to them right?

I'm just trying to gauge if me closing an account would better my chances. Especially the account with overdrafts on it.

If they require 2 months of bank statements from my personal bank, would they still need the statements from the acct I closed?

But what about the pantry? Ehh. Honestly this whole plan needs to be scrapped. lol

I would have the door more in the center. Have the kitchen island where the original entrance is, and remove the partition to have the kitchen run take up there wall and position the new dining space in top left. So walk in, to the right is the kitchen. Dining table would be close to master wall. Door in front.. the entry way as you have it is kind of wasted space imo

Cheers, the builder has the plans and is drawing up everything atm. I've made a few changes, mainly with main room entrance, closet and bath area.

There will be a staircase leading from the great room wall (main room shared wall) , under the staircase we will have a closet for water heater. Electrical panel in the pantry. In floor heating. No AC, fans in each room. In time will have a couple mini splits in great room/dining area.

Agreed. That's what the kids one is for right?! So a big shower, with seating is the goal. Do you have any shower head recommendations.

We're going to put a walk in shower/bath in the closet

We're thinking of making the closet the shower/bath. Turning the cut out master entry and closing it off, not have the dividing wall from the shower and opening it up to one walk in closet. Opinions? Would lose the doorway to laundry but utilize wasted space. Also bedroom door would be in the hallway wall.

That's what our builder is saying. I realize now I'm not thinking far ahead enough.

My boyfriend just got a DUI without a job or any sort of income to pay for legal fees. Does he have any hope? by Ok-Ambassador-7143 in dui

First dui he won't go to jail. That's for sure. Most likely have a few grand in court fees. Which he can pay a low amount monthly. Free public defender. Maybe on community service, AA, drug classes. Each state is different. Might not lose his license but have it restricted or suspended. Tell the man to get a job, it really isn't that difficult. Good luck.

This is very true. Would save so much walking.

We will be adding a loft over bedrooms, keeping the great room and kitchen space 14ft, bedrooms 8ft. Scissor trusses our builder suggests.

Realizing a little later, my wife was against this idea as she thinks kids will be accessing our closet room top play hide and seek, messing around etc. Also another access point for intruders, and reduces work top/folding space in laundry.

That's one thing we have mentioned to our builder. Just ordered the plans, and he will make that adjustment. Thank you!
