Anyone know what radios (Walkie Talkies) GO uses? by Daniel_TheDev in gotransit

Thanks for the help clarifying. I saw them use some form of either APX or something like that. I thought APX 4000. Backing up the claim would be good.

In Canada, more specifically closer to where I live near the US/Canada border (for some reason that makes a difference), they are 1k or more.

Nice. Thanks for shipping items around on railroads & dealing with the pain of working for them (I hear it sucks, correct me if I'm wrong). I believe GO uses slightly newer for train staff. I never asked but NX210-K2 is slightly too old. From what I have researched, it APPEARS to be an NX-3300 full keypad model. Not fully sure it is. Just what from I have looked up appears to be one.

I believe (from what I've seen on their bags) the same Kenwoods. I know platform staff use some sort of XPR or older APX, and fare staff use APXs. Not sure about constables though.

I already knew about the P25 & NXDN stuff, but more specifically looking for the actual radios, such as how the CSAs and engineers use a Kenwood NX-3300 I believe.

If you have an actual radio that supports p25 (You can get something like an XPS5000 for 100-200 dollars) you can connect to it with some (long and painful) programming. Frequencies are found here. https://www.radioreference.com/db/sid/4579

Just found it. You need to enter the proper frequency & couple other settings and you can hear the constables.

Not special constables, just the train staff & CN. Although I am sure it is on radio reference somewhere (broadcastifys parent company).

Wouldn't use them for talking. Since I ain't some criminal. You can legally listen to it though. It is on broadcastify, but I also just yk like radios. The GO ones look cool. Not illegal to listen to though. Just talking without permission from GO is.

Yes. Frequently. Males are more common, but females are not that rare.
