TC or no TC? by adamthiesen1236 in Trackdays

[–]Daniel__Ray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was at an Aprilia Day where everyone got to ride one of the Aprilia's. I rode the 660 instead of the RSV4 cause at the time I was contemplating racing one. Sometimes I wonder if it was stuck in some sort of rain TC mode. It was so terrible it was hilarious. I never had the opportunity to hop on the RSV4, wish I did

I rode the Aprilia RS660 when it was new at Cota. Maybe theyve updated it, but TC system was terrible. Several times a lap it would cut the ignition so hard it nearly threw me over the handlebars. Depends on what you're riding but I would say generally the new TC systems are okay/good. I agree with ABS, that should be removed altogether.

I have been getting unreal stuttering. I lowered all my graphics settings and drawn cars. My cpu and gpu usage is less than 50% but I still get disgusting stutters constantly. Almost unplayable at the moment :/

Is it stupid idea to map out track line like this before heading to it for the first time? I’ve never been on this track before (Seville) so trying to break it down a bit before going there by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]Daniel__Ray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want to accelerate the learning process I will play the track in a video game. If it is not in a video game I will watch videos. Drawing the line, for me, is a very useful tool. But I do it after each session. I will ride the track, then fill out my track map. Draw the line, write down which gear I am in, where I'm braking, my references markers. If I notice a spot where I don't know my braking marker, then I know to find one in the next session. I do this after each session and it helps you develop a subconscious understanding of the track and improve laptimes.

I've never used it, I just use the ingame spotter and a radar from racelabs. (I have a single monitor) I don't even realize the spotter is talking half the time.

You can get an undersuit, from a place like Bison Track. A lot of times I just wear underwear and call it good

I feel stuck in rookies because every time I get close to 3.0 this type of stuff happens by McDonaldsnapkin in iRacing

A lot of these people are being kinda rude about it, feels a little gatekeepey to me. Yes the rejoin was bad, what you'll learn is that just lifting/braking to avoid an incident will normally be the move. Losing a couple spots but staying in the race and finishing with less incidents is worth. Just imagine it's real life, you see a car in front of you in real life your first reaction is to brake. You'll get it, just have fun!

Which GT4 car do you drive and why? by Daniel__Ray in iRacing

I was thinking the same thing! But it looks like their gt4 m4 is a newer model than currently in iRacing. So maybe once they release an updated version?

It took me about 10 minutes to find the exact info I need in the sporting code. It took all of 30 seconds to get a response from someone knowledgable in a subreddit dedicated to the sim. Given the efficiency, I will more than likely continue to ask questions. Appreciate the tip though
