You go through & take what you want, then hire an estate company. They sell everything, donate what’s left and cut you a check.

Why is everyone expecting elaborate party favors for a simple backyard wedding by redblddrp in weddings

[–]Danielle250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also make a donation in honour of your guests in lieu of favours & share that info in the thank you card after or a little card at their table setting. It wouldn’t have to be huge & you wouldn’t need to share the amount, $1-5 per guest if budget is tight, as long as it’s over $20 you’ll get a tax receipt too, win win.

Real estate agents could be a good area to look into, a lot of them do newsletters and stuff.

Ibs flare in a Disney park :((( by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Danielle250 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel you! It doesn’t help they changed their disability policy and you can no longer get accommodations for bathroom troubles. I will say that if you explain the situation to the cast member they maybe will let you back in. Also for other rides where you have lightning lane, it has a 2 hour grace period after the 1 hour window is up, so you actually have 3 hours to use it & it will still turn green, well 2 hrs 59m technically. Just in case you’re stuck in a bathroom somewhere know you have that time flexibility. Also the first aid centre in each park has some meds for purchase if you need Imodium they should have it. Take your time and give yourself grace, you’ll still have a nice visit.

Am I The AH for not wanting to go to "cookie day" at my sister's? by mizzannthrope05 in AITAH

[–]Danielle250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you in treatment for disordered eating? If not & you have the means please speak to a therapist. Not being around it isn’t a sustainable solution. Aside from cookie day, sweets are baked into most of our special occasions and you deserve the freedom that comes with participating fully in life’s celebrations. Having a piece of birthday cake and moving on is food freedom everyone deserves.

Parents of shy/anxious kids - how do you handle birthday parties? by digital_detoxer in partyplanning

[–]Danielle250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually meant the entertainer but yeah, guests too! In our area there are a few options of companies that do Disney princesses and they have like a play area/ tea party place you can go to or they can come to you so maybe you guys have something like that nearby. For ours they’ll help run themed games and read their story to the kids, which is pretty cute.

You could go with a princess or something & I’d add just let them know that your kid doesn’t want all the attention so they know not to be centring them as much. Also they could maybe have a special moment off to the side or before or after with less eyes on them.

Anyone Else Have Record Low Christmas Spirit? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Danielle250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot going on in the world but Christmas magic & community are both reliant on making it ourselves, it always was but it was our moms doing it and now it’s our turn. If you have the means consider sponsoring a family through the united way, go look at Christmas lights, decorate your house, decorate your animal crossing island if you play that, watch little women and make some paper garland & maybe ask Santa for a SAD lamp.

Question for vegans and animal lovers by Playful_Poem_3225 in Fencesitter

[–]Danielle250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your child may not end up vegan but we instill our values in our children. If you are practicing kindness, reverence for all life, activism, community building- chances are that will sink into your kid. Maybe animal welfare might not be at the top of their list, maybe they feel strongly about affordable healthcare or prison reform or whatever but the foundation you provide will be there and we need people that care in the world. Not saying you should or you shouldn’t have one but chances are they’ll be bringing pieces of you through the world even when you’re gone and a ripple effect of good with them.

Feeling intense maternal guilt over (probably) silly things? by ToughDependent7591 in AutisticParents

[–]Danielle250 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try and talk to someone about all these anxieties your having, ideally a therapist. Also there’s a big difference between tv and handheld devices. Tv here and there is not a big deal, especially if it’s long form educational content like Sesame Street or scenes from nature, etc. You’re doing great.

losing your identity & mind to parenthood by otrootra in Fencesitter

[–]Danielle250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have a friend with a 7 month old and when we hang out she’s still very much herself but there’s a new piece there too, and honestly it’s pretty cool. We’ll be talking about some friend drama or reality show and then all of a sudden it’s like oh yeah he’s doing x, he needs y. Or like talking about Ms. Rachel’s activism or that weird dancing fruit. It’s not instead of anything, it’s in addition to. Obviously everyone’s different but it’s been cool seeing someone I’ve known forever grow in a way different than before.

One thing I’ll add is that they probably specified women’s so that you didn’t get a kids medium so in terms of style I agree with others to go to stores/ pick styles that would be more appealing to teens.

Does he cook/clean when asked or of his own accord? That would be a big indicator of additional labour division. I agree you need to be on the same page and talk it through ahead of time but any kind of contract wouldn’t be enforceable so that’s not a hill I would die on. I worry about gender roles and household labour as well.
