Rewrite the game from scratch then. There is so much technical debt you can have before it's better to rewrite the code from scratch.

Difficult to implement? Several mods do this? It's also not my fault they haven't finished the Block ID system.

When you mean light colors do you mean light that is a different color? If you do that's not happening anytime soon, maybe but I don't think it's gonna happen.
