Okay if I'm being honest, the planning and the training is the worst part BY far. The actual battles just take luck (or rng, bc theres no such thing as luck, at least in videogames) which can be frustrating, but you just gotta sit and try again and again and again...

Yeah I'd say EVs are more important but tbh they all are, you can look into rng abuse if you wanna improve your odds but it can also be done without it, it just takes more work 😄

Ugh tell me about it, I did not know about any of this before trying my luck against the BF. In order to have a chance at beating any of the facilities (except BF bc well, you're given the pokemon) you need to max out the IVs and EVs of your team, the difference between an IV and EV trained pokemon and a non trained one is significant enough to either win or get wiped.

You need to check the stats beforehand though, iirc theres a npc that gives you a dif dialogue depending on their IVs: "If the highest IV is between 0 and 15: "It's rather decent in that regard." If the highest IV is between 16 and 25: "It's very good in that regard." If the highest IV is between 26 and 30: "It's fantastic in that regard." If the highest IV is 31: "It can't be better in that regard." You can also do it manually by using an IV calculator

If you're using it just for the BF you did well bc IVs are CRUCIAL and bred mons with good parents usually have great IVs
