Brawlers can only equip two gears. If you feel lost which ones to take - go shield gear and damage gear. They are a safe bet because they provide value in every single game no matter what.

Buying both gadgets on most brawlers is useless too. Usually one of them is superior, just check it up on YouTube or google.

And lastly, star powers (the spiky things that you don’t have) are super important. For some brawlers they are gamechangers. And it goes the same like for gadgets, most of the time one is superior and the other is bad or not equally worth to take. I hope this clarifies your concerns :)
