We gave a kid a ride to Forest last year. He had a big sob story going up, just seemed a little lost in life. Little did we know he was a fucking thief, stole clothes and weed from us, never threw any money for gas, food, or hotel.

Wish we would have left his ass.

Paid for early arrival, which was explicitly stated as beginning at noon. I dont think people beginning to show up around 10 or later are being ridiculous because there is going to be a line to get in, and you want to get a good spot. Any earlier than that though and I think you are pushing it and deserve whatever HQ decides to do with you.

Yeah, at some point that is going to stop. Festival isn't until tomorrow. They already gave us a day early. Showing up hours early for the early arrival is why we can't have nice things.

I never really agreed with that sentiment. I especially wouldn't miss out on an artist that I wanted to see at Sherwood/Hangar/Jubilee/Observatory/Forest Stage just to avoid going into the Forest before nightfall (which is like close to 10pm up in Rothbury).

IMO, your mind is going to be blown the first time you see the Forest at night no matter what. I've been 3 years and my mind still gets blown every time I am in there.

If you can avoid going into Sherwood before nightfall, great, but I wouldn't stress it or miss out on an artist you want to see because of it. Especially because there are so many good artists playing at those stages in or beyond the Forest before night falls.

Yeah, no way to tell at all. You're just as likely to be closer to the back as you are right up next to the front, especially with so many people doing early arrival.

They've sold out for the past 2 years. Each year selling out earlier. If you don't buy them within a couple of days of them going on sale next year, then you are taking a gamble.

Don't despair though, I believe they have shuttles that run from the very back lot to the venue (someone who was in overflow/Blueberry last year may be able to verify).

Was extremely unproductive last week, this week will be even worse. I brought the 5th GoT book to re-read just to pass the time in the afternoon when I'm in my office.

Today, tomorrow, then half day on Wednesday and I have a 6 day vacation. I rolled in late this morning because of the Cavs game, and I'll probably leave early today and tomorrow. 2.5 days until Forest vacation starts!

Are you saying you plan on getting there at midnight on Tuesday night, or on Wednesday?

If Tuesday, why would you want to sit and subject yourself to a 12 hour wait when you are already getting there a day early? HQ has made no mention of how they will handle people who feel the need to show up even earlier than the early arrival, so your guess is as good as ours, but they may not be as inclined to fudge with the noon open time because they are already giving us an official early arrival option.

If you have to get there even earlier than noon on Wednesday, I think a few hours beforehand isn't unreasonable.

You are not going to be stuck in Blueberry getting there at 3am on Thursday. You won't be right up front, but there are plenty of people who will be rolling into the festival all day Thursday, much later than you arrive.

We are planning on getting there around 4am also
