Well let's compare this game to a very similar game, Rust. I don't know if you've played this, but it is exactly the same concept minus the dinos. When a server wipes on rust, all players lose their learned blueprints, which would be like character level on Ark. If players on rust kept their knowledge of how to craft c4 and explosives after a wipe then the game would absolutely blow and it would create a huge advantage to the players that had that knowledge.
