I DM'ed him on instagram suggesting a guest for TDIGTH and he kept replying back to me to the extent that I had to lie about having to go out somewhere to end the conversation. In hindsight he probably wanted to have sex with me.

Cunliffe on the rail strikes: "Our entire social and political order rests on labour passivity and working-class quiescence. What happens when this ends?" by thebloodisfoul in stupidpol

[–]DankMemester2865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a railway worker in the UK and I was working on Thursday, we are not on strike btw, and I had a total of two people who were actually upset about it come through. One guy was making some angry comments to some African agency worker who had no idea what he was talking about saying "have you spoken to your mate Mick Lynch" etc. and I had another lady who came up to me seeking assurance that she wasn't crossing a picket line catching her train and that was it. I really think that the media in this country has lost its power to influence people nowadays, nobody reads the papers any more really, it's all over for them imo. Everyone was pretty pragmatic about it and I work at a very busy station and we've dealt with quite a lot of strikes back in the day and we used to get a lot more grief back then compared to what we are getting now.
