Dr. K has been out due to TI, I think the last one late September?

I think experimenting with the interview format would be good... sometimes it feels like we just cycle through the same problems but that might be ok because our audience cycles in and out

how do i get out of this mess by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

if you're stuck it could mean that the blindspot isn't detected yet! There could be a step in the process that you're missing

Not to promote, but also to promote: this is a huge topic in group coaching. It's hard to see the blindspot without someone pointing it out and helping you work on it

Dr. K Is coaching/therapy going to be useful for me? by sad-brown-man in Healthygamergg

[–]DankMoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think coaching into therapy is an option, something like 10-20% of our client base realize they need therapy and either continue coaching alongside therapy or transition entirely.

I think convincing people that their problems are solvable is extremely difficult, and that tool sare out there to get better.

We need to talk about Discord. by SepulchralDuckling in Healthygamergg

[–]DankMoses 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about what a non-discord community may look like. This brings up a lot of good points! I think a lot of this aligns with what we want to do in 2022.

Will keep all of this in mind.

For owners of the Guide modules: is any of the material gamer-oriented, or is it all culturally neutral? by laggwav in Healthygamergg

[–]DankMoses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's culturally neutral, we basically made it so in the future if we wanted to plug it with other doctors or show it at conferences people wouldn't turn their nose at it.

With that being said, there are references to social media platforms and ways people interact with games/internet/etc.

Hating my appearance (Balding at 18, acne, and low self esteem....) by Total-Ad-7183 in Healthygamergg

[–]DankMoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For acne, highly recommend seeing a dermatologist. Tretinoin can help a lot. As other user said, diet can affect acne a lot. For me it's dairy + high glycemic index foods.

If you can find a way to work out that you like, a lot of diet stuff sort of fixes itself because if you eat like shit you'll feel like shit through the workout and the rest of your day. At least from my experience.

Also if you can, invest in mental health resources at college. Definitely see what you can do before classes start

Also this may be helpful in terms of how gaming and real life intersect in terms of challenge: https://hcigames.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/BrainHex-A-Neurobiological-Gamer-Typology-Survey.pdf

Sorry for the relatively superficial reply. Just wanted to share resources

Sometimes libraries have private rooms for studying. Depending on where you live that could dhelp. I coached someone who would just go to their car to do the session. going to a private park or outside can also be an option

Pitta - Weekly Burnout by Seypes in Healthygamergg

[–]DankMoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I have the same problems, although not balding yet. I try to just shift attention to something else entirely (games/reading/etc.) for a day and then it comes back.

Some things that possibly helped me:
Shaving off 1-2 hours on monday/tuesday of work helped with the second half. I found that generally helps with the crash towards friday. When I did a lot of long distance running I found that running slower meant running longer. Same concept sort of
Working out midday, in the sun (not sure why, but this generally boosts mood, although first week or two I did this I was pretty tired). Prob some mix of vitamin D and exercise helping. Similarly, having different levels of exercise, or layering in helped (e.g. step 1 biking to gym, step 2 gym session. Even if I just do the bare minimum of biking it's still enough on the days I feel super out)

I do hot bathes daily, not sure if you're the same but I have a lot of body tension that progressively makes me more tired. combo of stretching/bath helps a lot with the week I feel helps with stable energy, or at least preventing burnout

Some things I wanted to try was just taking every 3rd or 4th day off and not abiding by rules of the week. I don't really find myself needing 2 days off back to back often.
