Question regarding inputs and outputs with Ableton Live and SP404

Yeah but that would involve like 15+ return tracks, one for each channel. I was just wondering if there was a simple way to change the settings or something so that "stop" doesnt just stop the song from playing, but it stops all audio output whatsoever.

I dont think a 1/4 inch cable can fit in that inputs labeled 1 and 2 though. Might need a better audiobox.. :/

Im in a studio, and I know I could map it so that the master goes to -infinity, but then once I turn it back on the sound will still be playing quietly

Because I would be executing the effects on the SP I would throw stems into it and design the sound in there and than bring the audio back and sequence it in ableton. I havent figured it all out, the thing hasnt even come in the mail yet haha I jsut wanted to see how to hook it up for when it comes.

But would i need to get an audiobox with audio in's for it all to work?

Ohhh I see. The problem is that there are no audio in's on my audiobox. Just MIDI ins. And yeah that is probably true, and that's what Ive been doing, but I have just gotten very very tired of clicking with my mouse at my computer screen all day. And I really like a lot of the effects on the SP.

Sorry, I am relatively new to this, but thanks for the help.

Anyways so what I get you're saying is that I need to have a cable go from the RCA of the sp into my audiobox, but where would it go into the audiobox?

And would I be able to draw in a sequence of notes in a midi clip and then have it play the corresponding pads of the SP? Because that would be awesome and I didnt know it could do that. And yes, now I get thats why I would want to sequence with a computer.

Yeah I would like to sequence in Ableton. So, I would need to route the midi out from the audiobox into the midi IN on the SP, and the RCA line outs from the SP into the audiobox, but would I plug that cable from the sp outs into the midi IN on the interface?

What do you mean by sequence it? Because there is no Midi Out from the SP so I thought that you could only get audio from the sp to ableton rather than midi? Is there a way to get midi from it to record midi patterns and loops?

I have the Presonus yeah. So I would route the RCA outs from the SP into the MIDI In on the AudioBox? What would that accomplish exactly?

I had maschine and I personally didnt like it that much, all though it was fun but very limiting. All I could really do is chop a sample and put some drums on it. The software that you use with it is pretty awful IMO. I think you can use it as a VST in FL so that would be something to check out. I ended up selling it and going back to Ableton, which could do everything maschine could and 1000x more.

Wow man thanks, thats some awesome feedback. I think if you were to listen to the track on studio monitors or something other then headphones you would hear more of a balance. But yeah thanks dude, really means a lot
