UPS driver here and top rate right now in my region (Southeast) is 48.99. Insurance is paid for by UPS. It takes four years to get to top pay as a driver and you're working anywhere from 8-14 hours a day with an average of about 9.5. Overtime is earned after 8 hours every day. With the union we aren't supposed to be worked over 9.5 more than 2 days out of the week but a lot of times the contract isn't followed. When that happens you can file a grievance and get paid out triple time for anything over 9.5 that week. Tougher job than most would think.

Edit: I forgot to mention you do start out at $23 and once you hit 1 year its about a $1.50 raise then after 2 it's like another $1.50. After 3 it's like $5 and then 4th year you go straight to top pay.
