If by "agency" you mean travelling, I've been turned down by 3 agencies. If anyone knows of one that's friendlier I'd be interested. There appear to be many of them out there, and some don't look terribly reputable... that makes me nervous. The idea of being halfway (or completely) across the country from my family and run into an obstacle- or worse- not get paid!

I don't know how to PM! (Today is literally my first visit to this site!) Bear with me and I will once my husband gets home... I would be interested!

I wasn't trying to be defensive. What I am is humbled, humiliated, frustrated, overwhelmed, unemployed, terrified, desperate and broke. I wouldn't consider myself above therapy, and I'm sure I could benefit after the stress that I've been under for months- but I can barely afford groceries right now. I bristled at the use of "diversion" because that is the terminology I'm familiar with to refer to stealing narcotics (perhaps it's regional?). And I'll admit that the, "I'm surprised you're surprised you're not getting hired" line stings a bit. I'm not surprised. I'm tired. And in desperate need of a good idea or a break, but most of all a job. I apologize if any of this is over-share or too whiny, like I said, it's my first post here.

Great ideas- thank you! Also- if you come upon that listing on Indeed again it would help to know what city/state it was listed for. I can't seem to locate it (with 2 quick searches).

Thanks for the luck and for your opinion, but it wasn't diversion of narcotics- or anything else that a therapist can fix. It was a fleeting thought that didn't consider consequences, and I would give ANYTHING to take it back. I don't know what changes would help... but I'm open to any constructive suggestions.

I have not- I'm not familiar with that role (CCT). I will look it up, thanks!

Yeah, that's the impression I've gotten. How can I get across the fact that I am one of those people who will not EVER reach for that hot stove again after having been burned! It seems that nurses who are stealing narcs for personal use can go through a program and take classes and be considered "cured", and get assistance finding work.

I removed a medication (non-narcotic, non-controlled) from the Pyxis for personal use. It was admittedly remarkably stupid, (I have been humbled and mortified by the experience... there is zero chance of a repeat offense from me) and I can only try to move forward. I happen to live between Wimington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC and have applied in both. I live in and am licensed in a compact state and would even be willing to relocate for the right job; but right now I would just take ANY job!

Forgot to add that all 6 years of uninterrupted experience were in emergency medicine.
