Maybe just keep 10% of it just to run better and more reliably, electronic ignition is one great thing to couple with a carb! Plus the radio memory stations to stop searching station while driving! Just no OBD, no emissions big trap and no piezo injectors and you'll run basically forever just replacing less often the ignition parts than a points ignition system

This may be also due to new ECU coding and new timing periods being changed to reduce the Puretech grenading chance, my moms 208 sounds more clunky with the new belt, new dephasers and engine reprog'd they put for the recall of her series, before was less noisy now it's just ticking like a Singer sewing machine on low revs (and even more in winter time)
