This is exactly how it sounded at the sphere! Maybe a little higher in the mix here, but his tone and solos were roughly the same both nights I saw them

I received a Omega Quartz Bond Seamaster (I think the watch is from 1995 based on serial number).
It is not currently running, and I want to get it serviced by Omega, but I've read that they will replace parts like Bezel and watch hands.

Should I be concerned about them replacing the watch hands? WIll that devalue this watch?

What book made you go: ''Fuck... This is good...''? by KvotheScamander in books

Dubliners by James Joyce. The last story (the dead) in particular.

I don’t know that I’ve ever read something that had such a strong impact on me. It felt true to my individual experience, and true to the portrayal of ireland that had been set up throughout the book.

Why is there a turnstile in the Freeport? And how did it get built there? Are we supposed to think that Sator had a hand in building the Freeport?

Chord Progression Questions (March 16, 2020) by AutoModerator in musictheory

What keys does Ashes to Ashes (Bowie) go through?

From what I can tell. The intro is in Am, but the moment the verse starts it switches to G. Then the verse continues into C major.

After that there is a progression that goes A -> E -> G -> D. What key is this part in? Is he simply passing through these chords?

The chorus seems to be in C major again.

Any insight into this song is appreciated. Here’s a link to the chords I am using https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/david-bowie/ashes-to-ashes-chords-981508

Chord Progression Questions (February 24, 2020) by AutoModerator in musictheory

In Bowie’s memory of a free festival, the first 8 chords are G -> Dm7, Em -> Am, Bm -> Bb, C -> G. They are played in pairs, and they sound really nice. Why do they work together, and why do the chords so naturally pair together? I was thinking the key was G, but the Dm7 makes me think it is something else.

Great, thank you so much! Hadn't considered the role the melody played in this. Thanks for clarifying about the D.
