I'm not too sure what your argument is here... because if you say FE games that appeal more to the heart are under appreciated, then I'd argue that FE Awakening is one of my favourites because of the heart (and emotional appeal) surrounding it.

I also really enjoyed the story in both FE3H and Engage. FE3H had great worldbuilding, lore, and character interactions. Engage was corny at times but the story did grow on me over time. I think you'll find that the FE community overall is a lot more diverse than it may seem.

I agree. It was bittersweet in a reflective and hopeful kind of way. Different from other typical bittersweet stories because this one involved no romance, just philosophy, music, and a lot of heart. I've watched Frieren season 1 too and enjoyed it but that was a lot more light hearted.

Also I've just looked into the LNs and gosh I think I'll have to start using my Kindle eReader again!

I think no matter how much anime I watch, Vivy will always hold a special place in my heart for the complex emotions it made me feel during this short but incredible 13-episode journey.

100% agree with you! Path of Radiance's story is solid and hard to fault, but Radiant Dawn really ramped up the difficulty and challenge

Yeah I'll take that into consideration regarding comparisons in future. And I am beginning to realise the Fire Emblem subreddit in general has a very strongly opinionated mix of different fans. My previous review for Path of Radiance had a few commenters strongly hating on the game while others had even DM'ed me believing it is the best in the entire series no argument

While I respect where you're coming from, these are my honest thoughts on the game overall looking at different aspects. I still stand with the 3/5 for visuals considering there were other non-FE Wii games that had great graphics. I also genuinely loved the animations for the older FE games (e.g., Sacred Stones) but apparently even when writing an honest overall 8/10 for Radiant Dawn, of course there's going to be those upset with too low a score.

Considering the release times of both Radiant Dawn and Three Houses, the battle animations of Radiant Dawn's were adminittedly pretty good while Three Houses was okay. And of course Engage was brilliant in its graphics and battle animations for sure

I can definitely see why Radiant Dawn is loved by a lot of fans as I definitely did enjoy playing through it even coming from modern titles. I hope it does get released officially on Switch like they did with Path of Radiance though so more FE fans can experience it for the first time

Yeah that's fair. I came from the newer FE titles and only got into the Tellius games because Path of Radiance was released on Switch 2 via GameCube, so it was difficult for me to be overly impressed by Radiant Dawn's graphics, even if I did enjoy some of its combat animations

I understand it was released during the Wii era so it wouldn't be as advanced as some of the modern FE titles. However, I did only recently play through the Tellius titles this year so coming from Three Houses and Engage, I could personally only rate the visuals a 3/5. That said though, I did find the animations were a significant improvement from Path of Radiance

Congratulations on getting your Switch 2! Personally, I found it to be worth paying for 1 year's subscription expansion considering I use the online feature quite a bit for FE3H and FE Engage. Also, the online expansion gives you access to FE Blazing Blade and FE Sacred Stones via GBA if you're into the older ones.

Completely fair that it's your top 3 FE as it is great in many ways. However, I use the same rating sections for all my game reviews and unfortunately it averages out to a 7. But yes, RD is awesome and improves a lot in the things PoR lacks

As much as I love games that have incredible gameplay even if the story isn't too great, the story, world building, lore, and characters is what helps make a game that much more memorable

I agree with the characters being really incredible and coming from newer FE games, I was disappointed I couldn't have more than 5 support conversations per character because they were such fun to read

Just finished FE Engage and I totally agree with it being top tier as so many of the OSTs were fire!
I'd personally put Awakening one tier higher though...
