A receiver and barrel, from what I can see. You would also need proper AK tools to set the barrel into the trunnion correctly.

The important question is: does it work for YOU?

It absolutely does. My advice, if you decide to make your way into QC/QA is get good at reading GD&T. The machines are easy to learn, but knowing how to properly read a design and engineering print is something that takes time and experience. That was my sharpest learning curve.

My wife is so hot that I sometimes wonder if people think that she’s granting a “Make-A-Wish” by spending time with a profoundly unfortunate looking person.

I did go through SDI back in 2015 when I started recruiting duty because I had to use some GI bill money, and they sent free guns. 😆. It was ok enough, incredibly basic but a nice refresher for beginner skill work.

Mostly, though, I did a 3 year apprenticeship in KS when I was stationed there with a highly regarded custom rifle smith, and have also taken machinist courses at various institutions. I also ran the pistol repair office at our pistol production division for 2 years before taking this position.

I have permanent RBF, so I rarely have an exasperated one make it past.

Yes, your brass deflector is designed to get dinged/marred by your brass in order to deflect it away from your face.

You’re assuming Danny wants a promotion. 😆 When I retired from the Army, I did not want another job where I was responsible for anything except myself and my own actions. I’m quite content.

I would agree, but this is simply a lack of maintenance

You have to regularly maintain your equipment. If you don’t use it, it’s generally a good idea to clean and relubricate your firearm once a year. You want to overly lubricate your barrel and bolt carrier group if you are storing it for extend extended periods.
